Yeh, maybe if he was some doodh-wala from some god-forsaken village in the backwaters of bihar, then there is a high chance that he would never have heard of Tom Cruise, but Salman is a Bollywood actor, works in the entertainment industry, exposed to Hollywood, western popular culture, so it's almost certain that he knows.
