Salman Khan in Talks for Intense War Film on 2020 Galwan Clash, Directed by Apoorva Lakhia – Report

Salman Khan might be back on the big screen soon with a powerful war drama. As per fresh reports, the superstar is in advanced talks to play the lead in a film based on the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese soldiers. The film will be directed by Apoorva Lakhia, known for action films like Shootout at Lokhandwala, Mission Istaanbul, and Zanjeer.

After the underwhelming response to his Eid release Sikandar, Salman seems ready to bounce back. Sources suggest that several scripts were offered to him post-Sikandar, but this intense war-based project caught his attention. The actor is said to be deeply interested in the storyline, which explores the dramatic and emotional events of June 2020.

The Galwan Valley incident, which occurred in Ladakh, saw a deadly clash between Indian and Chinese troops. At least 20 Indian soldiers lost their lives during the conflict. Reports have indicated that nearly 45 Chinese soldiers may also have died, though China never officially confirmed those numbers. The incident marked a major escalation in Indo-China relations and was the first time in over four decades that firing occurred along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).

According to industry insiders, Salman has been in touch with other big directors like Ali Abbas Zafar and Kabir Khan. However, Apoorva Lakhia now seems to be the front-runner for this high-stakes film. If all goes well, Lakhia is expected to begin pre-production soon and start scheduling the shoot.

The film, which will likely be produced under Salman’s home banner, Salman Khan Films (SKF), is expected to be shot on real locations in Ladakh for authenticity. The scale and subject of the project suggest that it could be one of the most intense roles Salman has taken on in recent years.

While fans were disappointed with Sikandar, this new project has already sparked excitement. If confirmed, this film could mark a major turning point in Salman’s career, combining patriotic emotion with gritty action—two things his audience loves to see.
