Can MARRIED actresses last in Bollywood? - Page 2

Actor actress in bollywood are plain dumb. Leaving some like farhan akhtar. They keep making dumb movies , thinking audience is dumb , if an actress shelf value is over she can go back camera , do the creative part of filmmaking or even actors for that matter. Like yash chopra did till he died. But no they like fame , being in front of camera . N post there this short stay at fame .they hang out at every party , looking like loosers. Coz they dont know wht to do next.

I think the question first needed here is why they don't last long? Actually because women mostly are nothing but showpieces. However with actresses who are known as an actor, they'll work. I can bet for vidya, she has a long way to go and definitely a brighter future ahead.

Actresses in BW: You hear about them, see them in posters/trailers but their roles are rarely meaningful, they provide glamour, few songs, act as trophies, rarely have any influence and are usually cast against the leads old enough to be their father. (there are very few exceptions, you can count them on fingers so they are just exceptions!) They act in few movies, get engaged to hot shots and ultimately settle down with someone with bigger pay checks than they could ever make in the male dominated BW. Mission complete!

It sucks but its true that audiences will freak out if they see an older woman romancing a younger guy

I feel like we as an audience are partly to be blamed for sort of letting married actresses decline as well... In the end, it is the public who make or break movies..it is partly our decisions.

English Vinglish and Kahaani worked amazingly well though and Sridevi/Vidya sort of brought back hope for married actresses, they took risks and it paid off. 👏

I feel like most people go see movies these days because of the stars, not really stories. 😕

i don't think its the case with only married actresses.almost every actress starts fading by the time she is 30 or 35 the most.actresses like Rani Mukherjee or Preity Zinta are not married but they are no more that successful as they were few years back.i don't know why this happens because its really sad.SRK ,Salman they are still in demand despite of doing films without any storyline or acting but actresses who do know how to act do not get the same response.Aishwarya an Kajol can be seen as exceptions as their family is there priority and its a consious decision on their side to not do many films even when they are on peak of their career.
