It's 2014 and today we have many married and talented actresses, with alot of passion for their career and millions of fans. From Aishwarya, to Vidya, Kareena, Madhuri, Chitraganda and so on..but how long will these women truly last? We have seen all the men stay and romance women from different age groups, starting from the Sridevis era right to todays young starlets like Shraddha (Gabbar movie with Akshay)

I've noticed a lot of hate in general geared towards the married actresses and most insults are regarding age. (as if we all will never age ourselves ) but the audiences tend to forget that acting requires talent, not just good looks and youth. We have accepted legends like Amitabh to still entertain and inspire us on screen, yet we still have NO female actress of the same age that we can appreciate. Why such double standards?

My question is do you think Bollywood will evolve in the coming years and be more accepting of married actresses doing mainstream cinema and even carrying hit films on their own shoulders like in Hollywood?

also why do you think that our film industry AND the audience is so discriminating towards married actresses in general?

LET'S DISCUSS 😊

NO.
Women have a shorter shelf life compared to Men and their biological clock is ticking. While its perfectly alright to have 50 year old uncles romancing teenagers I can tell you right now that it wouldn't work if situation is flipped.

If you decide to tie the knot then its time to hang up the boots, throw in the towel and stay behind in the kitchen. 😳

if an actress like kareena kapoor khan takes digs to older actresses like: i am the youngest, i am young, age is on my side, young, young, ...then what can you expect.
now even with such immense talent nobody wants to sign her. and being married to a 45+budhua is not helping either. ab aaya mazaaa...hell katrina with no talent will last longer than this one.

ashwariya rai, vidya balan, kajol (only kjo movies) ,madhuri dixit and sridevi will get THE roles for married actresses before others.

truth hurts but, once married in bollywood, you are done! talent ...like anyone cares!

I agree and aish can still make her come back and give competition to all these new actresses. She is one of the most beautiful and talented actress and I feel she should come back because she has that charm and that screen presence to still be at the top.
Vidya and Kareena are still going strong, actually vidya give most of her hits in 30s and Kareena is a mindblowing actress but she has a pathetic script sense. If Kareena starts picking her movies wisely then she's gonna bounce up again,

And I really feel bollywood is changing. With actresses like Vidya, Deepika, Kareena, Priyanka I mean these actresses have beauty, talent, acting all in one now I am feeling that they will last more than actresses before. Because now bolly is coming up with movies which are more female oriented or give actresses equal screen space as actors.

Anyways a very good topic

NO...
The biggest reason here is even the same gender doesn't support. male audiences like male superstars and women audiences like male superstars better.

unmarried actresses can last in their 20's or with exception of an age of 34 max...their job is to weak skimpy clothes, look horny and satisfy the greed of male audiences...

sorry this is the harsh reality but this is the truth in India.

Interesting topic
Methinks, its not about being married or unmarried - its just plain perceptions and labells attached with someone being married - and that perception isnt just of the audience but the actresses themselves - its a threat they themselves have created in their head...so marriage becomes a last resort..
and the perception is that once she gets married (and she supposedly only should get married when her career is hitting dead ends😕 and not ever before that), she gets bracketed as someone older/ mature woman - who wont fit the bill of audience wanting to watch a PYT being romanced by a man...
however, Juhi, Divya bharti too made a career, regardless of the fact that they were married already...
