In terms of how actors are perceived, America has a much more mature audience. Actors shift between TV, films, theatre, Broadway and are widely accepted in all mediums. Why should good actors from TV be looked down upon? A TV artiste gets a film offer, and everyone here starts complaining about the level Bollywood has come to. Honestly, the level isn't great anyway with the kind of acting some of the big stars get away with.

Ankita is a fabulous actress and dancer. If Deepika Padukone as a model was good enough for SRK in OSO, then why not an actress with experience from TV? Ankita is a competent actress if not the Oscar-winning level that members here require from a newcomer. Probably audience wants another star daughter to be launched opposite SRK or may be another wooden model.

Anyway, it is just a rumour as of now. If Katrina Kaif can be rumoured to be cast opposite Salman in Rajshri's next, why not Ankita opposite SRK? Weren't SRK-Priyanka married off! I did be happy if Ankita is cast opposite SRK, but if she's isn't then too its fine. Ankita who has come from small town like Indore has done great for herself and hope she further climbs the ladder of success irrespective of the medium.

Well said Bonne! People complain about how TV actors are looked down on by BW folks but they themselves mock them all the time.

I don't know how much true this news is and if she was even selected, but even if she was just shortlisted/considered for the role then also its enough for me- makes me happy that inspite of playing mother of 5 kids in Pavitra Rishta she hasn't got stuck in her image and is being considered for glam/young roles.
