That's why am excited to see Raanjhanaa because it looks like it's a well made film unlike the pretentious YJHD. Even Amitabh Bachan wishes he was in Raanjhanaa...the film must be really good.

You can't compare these two as Naina and Zoya were completely different from each other. Naina's character was typical girl next door and Zoya's was a grey-shadedish character.

But if I had to go with one, I would go with Deepika. Sonam was great in Raanjhanaa with her expressions, looks etc but her dialogue delivery is still terrible. Needs a lot of improvements while Deepika has improved so much on that and its evident in YJHD. So my vote goes to her.

well i feel its unfair to compare Sonam and Deepika...Naina and Zoya are very different in characters...

Naina is simple..sweet...shy...nerdy introvert girl while Zoya is a grey-shaded character...

far more Deepika could do both simple and glamour roles with ease...she could do a wild vernoica and she could transit and mould herself easily into simple and nerdy naina and again transit easily as southie loud naughty beautiful Meena...she suits all 3 roles with perfection and she have experiment her roles while Sonam can only pull off with one role which is simple and sweet role... glamour and Sonam is miles apart...she doesn't suit the glamour side...she tried alot in players but failed big time...glamour is not her cup of tea

i don't want to compare Sonam with Deepika...but i can compare her with Katrina...she is way better than Katrina...as Sonam can act and give great expressions...

Ranjhana as a whole was a better movie than YJHD even A2 was better than the latter. If the comparison was between RK and Dhanush or even RK and ARK then RK wouldn't be winning any poll.

Zoya vs Naina

1. Better Character - Zoya

2. More Depth - Zoya

3. Better expressions - Zoya

4. Overall better performance - Naina😕

But, Sonam needs to keep doing these kind of roles. 👏

Watched both, and my vote undoubtedly goes to Sonam.
Deepika was the best thing abt YJHD along with Ark and Kalkil, but the story was nothing too special or out of the box. In fact, the scenes and the acting required out of the leads was pretty run of the mill.
Ranjhanaa came as an absolute surprise package, and Dhanush and Sonam carried a brilliant movie with a complex storyline on their shoulders with wonderful support from Zeeshan and Swara.
Even though Zoya and Naina were completely different characters and should not be compared, acting wise, Sonam stood out brilliantly for her acting.
