Kahan 3I 🥳 or kahan yeh bekaar Swades. 🥱

I must have a terrible NRI connection with India. There wasn't a single moment where i connected with his character.

Oh good.. No need to underline unless it is that your normal style of writing😆 I rarely read all the posts and that last para of yours seemed to indicate a different reason for regional films to be given the awards.

Does a NA really make a difference to regional films? Maybe, in the sense that some crackpots like me would try to watch them (but on CDs/TV/online) but as any incentive to the industry , other than pride to the state, the actor and the industry, mostly no.

Its not 'normal normal'...But i do that many times to stress some point, so that its noticed... 😳😆

I think it makes a difference... More people watch it once they know that its a NA winning movie... Thats more recognition... In that sense it makes a difference...

Totally agree with your comments abt the regional cinema... Bollywood actors get enough recognition... The regional actors, this is the only way their movies reach out to a bigger audience... A national award makes a huge difference for those regional movies...

Its always not that subjective either Maddy...sometimes there is a stark difference...So If I say that Katrina was better than Sri in EV, Vidya in kahaani or PC in Barfi...will u consider it as subjective...I don't think so...but on the other hand who was better between Sri, Vidya and PC is totally subjective...just saying subjective doesn't make it right always...No one unless biased towards Saif will say that he was better than SRK in Swades...
Secondly...The National awards are so credible becuase when they award for the best actor/actress its totally based on the performance of the actor...nothing else...The movie can be a snoozefest...doesn't matter...thats why they are different and credible than all the trashy awards like FF or Stardust and what not...so saying that Saif got the award because the members of the jury found him better than SRK is laughable...The jury for Natl. awards is not teen agers or common people...they are experts and they know what they are doing...I can agree that if they choose Vidya over Sri or Sri over PC...its their subjective decision but Saif over SRK...heck no...
Having said that...I know Saif is a very versatile and excellent actor...but that year he DID NOT deserve the award...

Compensation for OMKARA😆😆

Jokes apart, one movie and one role which I think only saif could have done was lyanda tyagi, saif was lyangda tyagi. Don't bother watching his other nasal toned roles where he acts like 25 yrs younger dude.

BTW it has happened to some other actors even in oscars. Like Kate winslet not getting for awesome movies and getting for The Reader, martin Scorcese never getting for taxi driver or raging bull and something else, James Stewart for Philadelphia story when he should have gotten for Mr Smith goes to Washington.

OMG ...yuu😡😆

Yeh tara is a nice song with nice lyrics actually...

I swear we had this topic before and Saif was bashed to death.
We all know it was an unfair win. Even Saif.
So end it at that.
He was robbed for Omkara, so it all evens out.

Of course it is subjective... There are people who like watching Katrina rather than a Vidya/PC/Sri... Its their personal choice... They can prefer one over the other... It ends up being a subjective opinion...
Regarding your opinion on some of them being biased towards Saif... They can say the same abt you too... 😆
You and i may find SRK's Swades as the best thing... But another member may not have the same opinion...
What i am trying to say is not everything has to be abt bias... People can find Saif's performance better than SRK's even without the bias... It can be a subjective opinion...

Well I had to watch both in cinemas and it was mind consuming

I recall I saw khakee , masti , main hoon na , hum tum , lakshya ,mujse Shaadi large , dhoom , veer zaara and Swades all in theater that year . My fav was khakee that film won no awards

That's blasphemous

Saif winning over Srk was unfair but more unfair things have happened so end of story and get over it 😉

Saif's national award wil always be a dirty win. How can the jury deciding your win have your own mother on it? If Saif was being considered that year at all, Sharmila should have stepped aside or been forced to step aside.

Whatever one thinks of Saif's performance, an award where his mother has say in his winning can never be justified as a fair win. It will always be tainted and dirty because of it.
