Rakesh Roshan has given interviews about this and explained it in detail about how crazy he thought Ajay and SRK were asking to switch roles.

Ajay got pissed thinking SRK just wanted him out of the film and didn't follow through with their plan of quitting the movie. That's where his grudge towards SRK first came from. My guess is that he wanted to romance Kajol and didn't get his way. 😆

Yash Chopra said he hated SRK at first! SRK asked for a bound script and nobody had ever asked Yash Chopra for that before. He was annoyed with SRK's attitude and arrogance and said even after they started filming, he was still looking for a guy to replace him!

By the time Baazigar was out shooting for Darr was long over and so was post-production. I mean they were basically 4-5 weeks apart in release. It doesn't matter if Sunny then watched Baazigar because it was all over by then. And he did realize that they were manipulating him when he was filming but at that point he wasn't in a position to walk out.

It wasn't until the whole movie was completed that he realized how much he liked SRK and the kind of work he did.
