The truth is that (it was in many old articles) Yash Chopra offered both male roles to Sunny and asked him which one he wanted. Sunny even said it in an old interview. He chose the hero role because in those days the villain roles weren't valued that much and it was too much a risk. His role wasn't cut either. I don't know where people are coming from with that. Sunny had the majority of the screen time in Darr. He had 4-5 different songs and he got the heroine too. He also got to beat up SRK in the end and kill him off. What more could he possibly want or expect?!

I think he believed the SRK role should have been like an old Amrish Puri kind of villain but he was shocked when it turned out more nuanced and interesting than that. Well, that's life. Things don't always work out the way you want.

By the way, Sunny gave an interview during the filming of Darr and he said he really enjoyed working with SRK and they got along well. He even said when SRK filmed his scenes, Sunny would take Gauri sightseeing and show her around Switzerland because she was alone and bored. It was later he started saying how he was oh so angry on the sets. Yarite!!

Anyway, it's all past them. Sunny has given later interviews saying he has nothing against SRK and they get along and are friendly now. They both have back problems so they discuss that. They even recommend doctors to each other. Bobby Deol, his brother, is also good friends with SRK and is seen at Mannat quite often.

After reading Aamir's nd Sunny's interview, it wouldnt be wrong to say that Yash Raj nd Yash Ji himself was so manuplative!! He might have made great romantics but his personna nd this quality of his has disappointed me!
