SPECIAL CHABBIS Finishes Week One On High

"Special Chabbis" started with sombre note but film took off afterwards with exceptional word of mouth. Film held up with very good numbers on weekdays too.

Film collected 4.70 cr nett on Tuesday followed by 3.90 cr nett on Wednesday. Today film topk advantage of Valentines Day and film should collect 5-5.25 cr nett. Film has collected 45.50 cr nett in week one.

Film has also crossed 50 cr worldwide and 2nd week is now the real challenge for the film. Film has to collect 25-30 cr nett in 2nd week so that it can get close to 80-90 cr nett lifetime mark which will be an ideal result.

Finally watched this film Akshay yaar take a bow 👏👏👏

He was marvelous in this film.

The film was good it could have gone all dry/slow/documentary but it was very entertaining .

Best film of the year so far and best Hindi movie I saw since Barfi. I did like Barfi even if I ridicule it for copying. 😆

I do not know about awards but Akshay should get nominations at every award show

An as for National Award well Akshay did say he loves his country in a few lines so he might get that 😆😆😆

Special 26 Day Eight Business

Special 26 grossed around 2-2.25 crore nett on its 8th day. The drop is 60-65% from day one which is reasonable. The total after eight days is around the 40 crore nett mark for the film.

The poor performance of Murder 3 and Jayantabhai Ki Love Story will ensure the film shows huge growth on Saturday. The film should comfortably cross 10 crore nett for its second weekend. The film is doing best in delhi NCR and Mysore.

The lifetime business of the film should cross 60 crore nett with an outside chance of 65 crore nett if it can hold in the third and fourth weeks of its run.

Special 26 Second Friday Collection.

Special 26 has collected a decent 2.5 crore nett on 2nd Friday at the box office. Collections are decent considering Murder 3 and Jayantabhai Ki Luv Story were released this Friday and it eat into the screen space of S26. Special 26 total collection after eight days is around 45.65 crore nett.

With a decent start to second week for Special 26, we can expect a decent weekend on the cards. If film picks up well on 2nd Saturday and 2nd Sunday then a figure of 9-10 crore nett can be expected from the second weekend. In reality it needs as much as jump as possible for the 2nd weekend.

Good news for Special 26 is that new releases are not performing as expected and there is no major all India release till Himmatwala, which is releasing on 29th March. So, if S26 has enough legs it can trend well and collect significant till then.

Collection Breakup -

1st Week - 43.15 cr nett.

2nd Friday - 2.5 cr nett (Estimates).

Total - 45.65 cr nett.

"Special Chabbis" collected well in week one and collected good 44 cr nett. This was a good total considering film's not so great start over the weekend. Film's trending on weekdays was encouraging.

Film got lucky as both the new releases this week met with cold response at ticket window. "Special Chabbis" collected very good 2.25 cr nett on 2nd Friday which was only a drop of 55%. Today film jumped and should finish day with 3.35 cr nett.

This is a huge jump of 50% and that means film will score at least 10 cr nett over the 2nd weekend. Film will need good 3rd and 4th week to touch figure of 75 cr nett.

Special 26

Good movie, but not as amazing as I expected. Perhaps I had raised my expectations too high with all the great reviews, but still decent and funny watch. Don't compare to other thrillers we've had like Kahaani last year, because in comparison SP26 is slower and definitely don't compare to A Wednesday because that was a much more TAUT thriller.

The love story in SP26 is so bad and almost put me to sleep. It was TOTALLY unnecessary. It just slows the film down for no reason at all and is just plain annoying. I'm almost sad that Neeraj Pandey felt he had to add in a love story and songs to this film because besides that song/dance at the wedding, the others weren't really necessary. Kajal Aggarwal has ZERO screen presence, can't act, isn't even pretty to look at. In fact, she ruined my mood whenever she came. 90% of why I didn't enjoy first half as much. Second half was much much better because it focused more on their heist & thank god Kajal wasn't there. The last twist was good and it was really interesting to watch how they would pull this heist off. I liked the subtle humor in this film. I really liked th attention to detail too..they tried very hard to keep it true to the 80's with the phones, they way they tapped the phones..😆

SP26 is kind of like a desi Ocean's 11...I suspect they want to make it a series like that. In the sequel, when it happens, I'd like to know a little bit more on their backgrounds, how they met, how they formed this team, etc :)

As for the acting, besides Kajal everyone else is top-notch. Akshay, please do these kind of films more and quit wasting your talent in shit like Housefull 2. Not to mention, he looked hot in the film. 😳 Manoj Bajpaye was great as always, Kimmy Shergill, Divya Dutta everyone in the team. But for me the star was, Anupam Kher without a doubt. 😆

All in all, a good movie to unwind with, in need of slightly better editing (I would have chopped the whole love story off)...don't expect anything gobsmackingly amazing like A Wednesday was, and you won't be disappointed.

Special 26 Grosses 48 Crore In
Ten Days

48 crore nett in ten days as it
added around 9.25 crore nett in
its second weekend. The film had
better weekend collections than
the new release Murder 3 in a
couple of circuits. On Sunday it
was ahead of Murder 3 at most
places as it grossed 4.25-4.50
crore nett compared to the 4
crore nett of Murder 3.
The film has done decent
business in all circuits apart from
from Nizam/Andhra with Delhi/
UP, East Punjab and Mysore being
top performers.
The film should gross around
53-54 crore nett in two weeks
and go to 60 plus for its lifetime
business. Basically the lifetime
business of the film will be in the
same range as Khiladi 786 while
the distributor share will be
around the 30 crore mark.

Special 26 Second Weekend Collection 9.9 cr nett.

Special 26 has collected around 9.9 crore nett in its 2nd weekend at the box office. Special 26 collected around 4.7 crore nett on 2nd Sunday. It earlier collected around 2.35 crore nett on 2nd Friday and another 2.85 crore nett on 2nd Saturday. Special 26 total collection after 10 days is around 53.05 crore nett.

Special 26 showed jump on 2nd weekend and collected decently. Jump is decent, but could have been even better. Second weekend collection has ensured that S26 will now cross 55+ crore nett by the end of second week. S26 should also touch 60 crore nett by third weekend end or atmost by third week. After that only time will tell whether it can collect more or not.

Makers of S26 have already made profits when non-theatrical revenue is considered. But it looks like few exhibitors/distributors are about to lose money who have brought the rights for big price. Regarding those who are asking S26 to touch 100 crore nett in India, would like to say that only a miracle will take S26 near that mark now.
