SPECIAL CHABBIS Performing Very Well On Weekdays

"Special Chabbis" is now heading for very good week one considering its low start. Film is almost constant on weekdays and there is excellent occupancy all over.

Film collected close to 5 cr nett on Monday and film was steady on Tuesday too. Film should add further 4.50-4.75 cr nett today and film's total will stand at 36 cr nett plus. Film shouldadd further 9 cr nett in next two days.

Film will collect 45 cr nett in week one after taking advantage of Valentines Day and that means if film trends in same way next week then film should reach 80 cr nett. Film is also performing well in overseas now so worldwide collections can also reach close to 100 cr nett.

'Special 26', 'ABCD' emit a wave of optimism!

This weekend was indeed special! SPECIAL 26 and ABCD - ANY BODY CAN DANCE have revived memories of days when two films would blissfully co-exist in one week. The two films -- diametrically opposite in terms of content -- have brought about a wave of optimism, with the combined weekend total looking at approx Rs 45 cr +. Just goes to prove that the audience is thirsting for films that enlighten and entertain. It also signifies that the viewer is not limiting himself/herself to masala movies alone.

What really caught the film trade by surprise was the tremendous start embarked upon by ABCD - ANY BODY CAN DANCE at several centres. Though pitted against a movie that was carrying rave reports, besides impressive names on and off screen, the general feeling was, it would be tough for ABCD - ANY BODY CAN DANCE to withstand a strong opponent like SPECIAL 26. Instead, ABCD - ANY BODY CAN DANCE ate into the business of SPECIAL 26 initially. Box-office can be so volatile!

On the other hand, SPECIAL 26 was never expected to notch a momentous opening, like the HOUSEFULL series or ROWDY RATHORE, both starring Akshay Kumar. It was meant to grow with each passing day and it behaved exactly that way. SPECIAL 26 witnessed impressive growth on Saturday and Sunday and has been maintaining very well on weekdays across multiplexes. The terrific word of mouth, the fantastic reviews by critics who matter and the overall positivity surrounding the movie should help it sustain in its second weekend too.

Both SPECIAL 26 and ABCD - ANY BODY CAN DANCE come with an expensive price tag and it would be interesting to note their performance in the forthcoming days. Nonetheless, when one looks back, it does signify that he audience never went away, like some naysayers would want us to believe. A good film will always find its audience. However, the onus falls upon us, the film industry, to deliver movies of their choice. Right?

Mumbai: Filmmaker Neeraj Pandey-directed 'Special 26', which has garnered positive response, is likely to be remade down South.

"Yes, I have received many calls since Friday. Many people from South have approached me asking for the remake rights," Pandey, who had earlier won accolades for helming "A Wednesday", told IANS.

He was speaking on the sidelines of a 'Special 26' event. Released last week, the film is doing well.

Neeraj Pandey-directed 'Special 26', which has garnered positive response, is likely to be remade down South.

However, the decision about remake rights won't be taken by Pandey, he said and added: "I don't know what is the status about it. People on the upper level will take the decision."

His 'A Wednesday' remade in Tamil as 'Unnaipol Oruvan' and Telugu as 'Eeenadu'.

'Special 26', based on a real life incident, sees Akshay Kumar as a conman and he clarifies he was not experimenting.

"My intention was not to experiment with different films. I really liked the subject. This is one of the best films among my films. When I was just coming here to meet you all, I met Mithun Chakrobarty and he said he really liked the film and wants to remake it in Bengali."

The film also featured Anupam Kher and Manoj Bajpayee, among others.

Special 26 And ABCD Hold Well On Tuesday

Special 26 and ABCD - Any Body Can Dance both held up well on Tuesday showing just 10% drops from the previous day. The totals after five days is a 30.75 crore nett total for Special 26 and a 20.50 crore nett total for ABCD - Any Bod Can Dance.

Both films should show an upturn of around 15-25% on Valentines Day on Thursday as over the last few years Valentines Day has seen collections go up despite it not being a holiday.

The key for both film is the second weekend business, more so for Special 26 due to the costs involved.

Special 26 Tuesday Box Office Collection. Steady.

Special 26 is been steady in weekdays in lower end. As per estimates it has collected around 3.85 crore nett on Tuesday at the box office. Special 26 five days total collection is now stands at 34.65 crore nett. Film has shown marginal drop of 10% on Tuesday from Monday. Drop is marginal, but figure is in lower end.

From early trends Special 26 first week collection is heading for 41 crore nett mark. That will be decent figure, but can't be said as excellent. Special 26 will have tough battle on hand as two films Murder 3 and Jayanta Bhai Ki Luv Story is releasing this Friday. Special 26 needs around 70-75 crore nett mark for reaching safety for the distributors which right now looks a 50-50 battle on the cards. There is absolute positivity in reports of the film, but it is not transforming into box office numbers. Hope second weekend will be big again for Special 26.

Collection Breakup -

Friday - 7 cr nett.
Saturday - 9 cr nett.

Sunday - 10.5 cr nett.

Monday - 4.3 cr nett.
Tuesday - 3.85 cr nett (Estimates)

Total - 34.65 cr nett.

Special (26) Chabbis: 1st Tuesday Box Office Collections

And yes it has been an amazing week for Bollywood. Both Special Chabbis (26) and ABCD – Any Body Can Dance have done pretty well and continue to hold up on weekdays. On its 5th day run at the domestic box office Special 26 made about 4 Crores which brings up the post Tuesday total to 34.50 Crores.

Staying steady at lower levels its seems Special Chabbis (26) is on the way to do another OMG! Oh My God. The first week collections are sure to be greater than expected; Post which there is little chance of new releases, i.e. Murder 3 and Jayantabhai Ki Luv Story to do any major damage to the the box office journey ofSpecial Chabbis (26).

Watched it! LOVEEDD IT <3

Not a dull moment (other than the love angle)...fast paced...thrilling! The cast was BRILLIANT could not have been better! Must watch for everyone who haven't till now 👍🏼

Oh My God vs Special 26

Special 26 is running successfully at the box office, as the film was rock-steady at the box office on Monday and Tuesday, after showing good growth in business in it's first weekend.

Films with powerful scripts tend to do well over the long run, and given the appreciation that Special 26 is carrying, it makes for a good comparison with Akshay Kumar's last critically acclaimed success OMG! Oh My God.

OMG took a massive jump on it's 5th day as it was a National holiday. Although Thursday is not a National Holiday, Special 26 too is likely to benefit from Valentine's Day.

SPECIAL CHABBIS Heading For Fantastic Week One

"Special Chabbis" collected not so great numbers over the weekend but on weekdays film is compensating for it. Film is heading for a fantastic week one.

Film collected 4.25 cr nett on Wednesday taking film's 6 day collections to 40.50 cr nett. Film will collect slightly higher number tomorrow due to Valentines Day and 1st week should finish at 45 cr nett.

Film will be totally dependent on 2nd weekend for a healthy lifetime business and anything in range of 25-30 cr nett will be an ideal result for the film.
