Even I find Katrina's accent cute. Yesterday I was watching Tees Maar Khan and really found her accent appealing. The way she said ' he is such a meenie' and ' main aur makeup lagake aati hoon' really cutee.

And atleast her accent is real and not wannabe-ish like others we know.

I dont find her hindi cringeworthy at all
Personally I believe she has learned hindi reasonably well for someone who was not at all familiar with the language. I dont get the criticism she receives for her hindi or lack of it. I think she is pretty good for a foreigner

??? Indians will obviously have the Indian accent, it's not something they pick it's something they acquire culturally. For us Indians (living in India), Indian accent is not even an accent, it's just a normal way of speaking. The US or british accent is foreign for us.

Her accent isn't British. I should know, my accents quite strong. But yeah her accent has different accents coming through.

Not a 'section' of Indian people, all Indians have this accent because they acquire it culturally. Like I said, we don't choose to speak this way. This is normal for us. When we speak in our own 'accent' we don't realize that we have an accent. If chinese speak english in their own accent, you and I might realize it but they won't, because it's normal for them. We can't wake up one day and simply start talking american or brit english, you know.

Secondly, the way this guy speaks is not even the real Indian accent. I have no idea why people in the west tend to exaggerate the Indian accent but this is not how it sounds like at all. Watch an Indian news channel and you'll know what I mean. Or just hear SRK speak. His accent is the ideal Indian accent and he doesn't tweak it either ways.

But blue-ice who said that it is absolutely necessary to talk in the perfect North Indian accent to be a part of Bollywood? Hema and Sri have a South Indian influence in the way they speak because they were born there. So what's wrong in that? At least their accents are still Indian.

Besides, I don't even have a problem with Kat's accent as long as her learns how to speak hindi. She can speak hindi with her whatever accent but at least learn the language!

Section of Indian people? I have lived in India for a long time and I have seen a big section of Indians and I have not heard anyone speak like this.

I have been living abroad for a while now, and here too I have come across a big section of Indians and I have not heard anyone speak like this.

This accent that guy is speaking in is more of a spoof... 😆

I disagree if u star in North Indian movies it is ideal to have a North Indian accent, why just discriminate against the western accent? also Kat dubs her own movies

That's because she has lived there for just 3 years. That's too short a time to acquire an accent... Katrina has lived in different countries during her growing up years... I guess that's why she doesn't have a country specific accent.
