Wait, bollywood is not the 'North Indian' film Industry. FYI, hindi is spoken nation wide, albeit scarcely in the South perhaps. But bollywood isn't a region specific Industry. It's just the hindi film Industry. For the north, you have the bhojpuri film Industry, the punjabi film Industry etc. The bengali film Industry is also seperate. Then you also have a different Gujarati cinema. You are already aware of the south Indian industry. These are the industries where regional accent matters, not in bollywood which encompasses hindi in all it's forms and accents. The problem would have been Hema and Sri talking in Tamil in Hindi films, as long as they're not doing that, I don't see the problem?

It's more on the American side and it was hilarious how she was a total Brit in Namaste London with an American accent.. probably the only one I guess 😆

I dont think she has any accent in English.. its just her own natural accent which is a lot better than the heavy Indian one like that of Genelia for example.

I don't have a problem with her accent, I have a problem with her inability to speak hindi off screen and the inability to express a single emotion apart from the constipated face. Like I said, she can keep her dear accent for as long as she wants but I find it highly annoying when she doesn't speak in hindi in interviews/shows/promotions inspite of having been in the Industry for 10 years now.

Genelia has a bad accent...🤢 Alot of the actors pronounce and as AAAND.. so annoying..

I agree with UNP when she doesn't speak hindi in the interviews especially if the interviewer and her co stars are speaking in hindi.. looks disrespectful..

I've always said this lol.
Problem is she plays these kind of characters, I was cringing in Namaste London at her acting of course but more so at her so called brit accent. That wasn't by any definition or region (in England) a british accent.
I hate how film makers think they can just make her an anglicised character in every damn movie to hide the fact that she can't speak Hindi very well. She should at the very least be able to speak in a brit accent in movies like NL, ZNMD, JTHJ having failed at other aspects.
Her accent is just a hybrid.

huh? As long as she speaks Hindi onscreen u should have no problem! Period!
