Scenes in which Big B n Srk interacted as y can't son come 2 father, or y can't father express... how unconditionally mother loves u, a scene where srk step inside the mall n jaya just turn around, simply heart touching... also the moment hrithik enters srk's house n slowly he come forward 2 greet srk, he was knowing he was his big brother, srk couldn't recognize him... One of the brilliant film on family issue made in recent times...

ya, Stars do make KJO, but he has some power in himself also, other wise BO wise plus now awards wise a boring SOTY won't have pushed it on its own if KJO won't have directed it...

Oh you were asking about K3G! I read it as KKHH. My mistake! Frankly I didnt like K3G much. Only the stars(apart from Kajol) made it bearable for me.
About KJo's power...I agree he has some of his own now. Association for years with most powerful people in BW like SRK, Bachchans, Chopras helped. He was the only one who could manage a casting coup like K3G so he is respected and considered powerful in BW. Diplomatic people like KJo can fit into any camp. Among the public the reality shows he does and KWK helped increase his brand equity.
As for SOTY the music became a hit. And he publicized it more than even Ra1 was publicized. That certainly helped it do well at the BO apart from his own brand.

They are trendsetters but in a different way. ...as in they haven't actually started the specific trend, because let's face it Bollywood cinema is 100 years old, its highly unlikely that these folks actually started the trend 75 years into the industry, but they did bring certain trends back...ie changed the current trend to another one.

1970-1980's was all masala films. Sure we had a bunch of very successful films that didn't belong to that genre, but the majority of the films were the maar dhaar ones.

Then came MPK, QSQT, and Chandni at the end of the 80's (known fact: YC made Chandni solely because he was bored of the maar dhaar stuff going on at the time). Suddenly, romance and family entertainers were "in" again...this was totally solidified by HAHK and DDLJ in mid 90's...and then the Dharma/YRF films that followed.

Trend I guess means when many others start imitating a star or doing a movie of a certain genre. Many times one who started the trend gets left far behind.

The point was about trends not that no movie in said genre was made at all before that time.
