I will say this DABANGG was the first Commerical mainstream film to be filmed in heartland of India after longass time. So Salman brought that trend back

I think you are getting confused between creating trends for the first time (which btw was even earlier than Amitabh...as shocking as it may seem, Big B did not give birth to Hindi cinema) and changing trends from one to another at various points in history. Neither Salman nor Aamir created romance in Bollywood for the firstest time eva! (Big B didn't either). But they did bring about the change from the 80s masala fare to the 90s romance.

Even if u are talking about faishon...The hairstyles of Rajesh Khanna, AB Sr, Sadhna, etc were a craze like never before...The kind of clothes that AB wore used to becaome a craze...The kind of dresses that Dimple wore in Bobby were an instant craze...There were craze at all the times...Just because we didn't experience them ...doesn't mean they were not there...try googling and u will come up with details..

I read this somewhere that KJo was totally inspired by HAHK and it showed in his movies. But still i believe he couldnt touch the finesse with which SB potrays emotions in his movies. The only thing KJo potrays well is huge sets, costly designer wears, extravagant song sequences n truckloads of biggie actors. Its like learning a performing act without knowing the essence of it.
