Why has SRK not given any record setting film? - Page 5

I think everyone has that successful phase, previously it was srk and now its salman, But that doesn't mean SRK hasn't given any record setting film, DDLJ one of the longest running movies and is still remembered as Yash ji's best, it is a record in itself. A movie that ran for more than 500 weeks is a record in itself certainly.

HAHK was Madhuri's film throughout. Salla was nothing more than eye-candy/wallpaper.

Yes DDLJ is the longest running film which is a record, but it was in 90s and in collections also it ranks behind HAHK. K3G was ATBB but it was 11 years ago. But why records aren't coming now when even some nobodies of past are giving ATBBs or record openers? (You know which stars were strugglers at box office!)

Agree about phases. But no one expected such phase from him (he always conducted his career well). Though he's doing better than what others did when they went through low phase.

SRK might not be giving ATBB at the moment but man has been consistent for long time. Every star has high and low phases. Maybe its SRK's bad phase right now but despite his low phase, he's been giving hits. Now that's something praiseworthy. Even SK and AK has their bad phase but they didn't manage to give hits like SRK during their bad phase, did they? If he manages to give hits in his bad phase imagine what he can do when everything will be good in his world?

It's laughable 2 read Srk fans defending SRK by saying SRK don't do the likes of Bol Bachchan & Ready... i guess Chennai express is directed by James Cameron & is Quality ISO Mark Genre film not masala like Ready 😕

I was more interested in discussing causes of his "phase" or inability to give ATBBs now. Few responses were about it. Others just giving explanations of how he's consistent or had DDLJ record etc. (even I acknowledged in first post that he had all this!).

Here was a man who toppled all existing predictions wrong in 90s and was replacing all other actors in directors' wish lists. Just what went wrong for him and brought about his low phase?

Now some have made their reasons clear. I hope others also give their POV of what they think brought about this turn in tide for him.

Choice of films thing seems odd to me seeing how many others' mindless films also worked so well. They can accept others then why not him?
