You're sadly mistaken. Hinduism doesn't preach that at all.

In totality, there are four paths of attaining liberation from the cycle of death and rebirth, namely, selfless work, self dissolving love, deep meditation and total discernment.

Where else have you heard that before? In a Sikh scripture perhaps.

K.Sean, I would suggest that you actually read the Upanishads, Gita, and other works of Hindu philosophy, thereby gaining a proper understanding of it, rather than going by hearsay, because as of now, you have an incredibly superficial understanding, actually scratch that, it's downright ignorance.

All in all, Hinduism and Sikhism are two religions that have more similarities than perhaps any other two religions. Yet they both have their separate identities. Some people claim Sikhism to be part of Hinduism, which is wrong but others who claim Sikhism to be completely different from Hinduism, are equally wrong.
