Sataymev Jayate. Finally! Finished watching.

It was well worth the wait... All I can say is that, be the change you want to see. I don't understand why girls are thought to be inferior compared to the guys? We carry the child for 9months, we go through labour and it's our body that goes through all sorts of changes during pregnancy and after, yet we are inferior compared to the guys? It is the male that determines the sex of the child yet it is female that suffers? Where do we lag behind in the race? What the male does, generally the female does it better.

I know we can't eliminate this problem or any other issue completely for that matter, but bringing it to our attention clears the clouded judgement we have that it only happens in villages or amongst the illiterates.. It was sickening to know that absolutely no action was taken after the sting operation and the doctors still had the license to practice? If action was taken against them then that will surely reduce the problem. Taking away the license will emphasise to them that they are commiting a crime and should be punished accordingly.

The song at the end, was beautiful. Now I'm booked every Sunday morning at 11am... Any guesses on next issue? I think it should be on education and all the exam pressure that is put on the students to be the top.

absolutely love Aamir Khan! Forever a fan ! Anyways I'm off now!

Xoxo

Also, hats off to the district collector (cant remember his name) for taking the initiative for tackling female infanticide in his district. Shows that small baby step can bring in a change.

Ironical isn't it? A country and a culture which has revered and prayed to the Mother Goddess for centuries, goes ahead and kills its own daughters?

We celebrate the festival of Navratri twice in a year...a festival that is specifically ear-marked for the 9 Goddesses of Indian Mythology...a festival which celebrates womanhood and her unique gift of giving life on earth.
And yet, we kill that very life even before they are born.
This is not a topic to shy away from or be ashamed to discuss about. If we are proud of being part of a country which has given birth to some of the world's luminous leading lights, we should also be ready to face the evils that exist in our society.
And while, Aamir with his star power might start a change...its ultimately, the common people, like us, who have to make the ultimate difference!
Just like Amitabh heralded the Polio Awarness Campaign and literally brought about a change in every part of our country...hopefully, Aamir can do the same! I can only quote the famous line from Spiderman, 'With great power, comes great responsibility!' And its nice to see our Stars being responsible!😊
Its also very heartening to see that we finally have something to think about for the rest of the week, after Sunday 11 Am!😊
PS: Star Plus has redeemed itself partly for producing and popularizing all those awful Saas-Bahu shows! They have put their money into something worthwhile for a change!

is this the same country having the most number of female warriors and rulers...whenever i get a chance i just visit amar chitra katha store and gets some good comics to read...they are really interesting and intellectual.

i have more than 300 titles and they are mostly filled with women warriors or rulers- Rani Durgavati, Razia Sultan, Lakshmi Bai, Chand Bibi, Sundri- The Brave Kaur, Pritilata Waddedar, Avantibai, Mai Bhago etc etc...

it is shameful to see how women are treated today...and its not just abt killing the babies...its also the women who suffer everyday. *FACEPALM* if there was really a way out that could guarantee fruitful results for the better ment of women i would be the first to jump unfortunately, it doesn't seem to happen soon enough

We also have govt. officials who should come to the limelight for being true to their work in the corrupt society. Here's another one. http://www.outlookindia.com/article.aspx?277990

Kudos to star plus...Amir and all the participants who gave a brave fight in their lives for our future generating girls 👏👏

I really hope the popularity of this show is proportional to the awareness...created by it rather than taking it as just a show

I also noticed no where Brand Amir was highlighted as most of the shows do esp unlike the show on colours where Salman gives health tips...no fangiri shown...and after sometime they forgot to show how to treat osteoporosis, which was main topic,
Unlike there, the main highlight and focus of SMJ was never compromised...

Definitely! And here is where the media should play its role! They are the first ones to expose corruption and evil practices in our country, then why shouldn't they also be the one to tell the world, that for every 100 wrong-doers, there is one amongst them who shows courage and character!
Indian Bureaucracy might be riddled with rampant corruption and indifference, but it also has many people who genuinly want to make a difference...who want to make a change! And its only right, that they should be given their due, so that they serve as an example to the others!

haha

This will be again an epic example over how to make money from serious issues by media through TRP.

People will definitely watch the show and the host, all companies who sponsors and the TV channel are going to make million of bucks over milking such issues, but end result will be nothing because that's the reality. The show is all about how to milk emotional issues and making bucks.

The most hilarious thing is people who abonded their own chilldren asking to spread awareness of children. Next show will be how to love your parents? ahem...or brothers?

May be he will do an episode on how Indian law suit is partial to celebs and postpone cases on and on?

Indian public is emotional , that's why those 3rd grade sops and ekta kapoor made billions. Now these kind of shows with a TOP celeb will make billions for the producers . Each episode will make millions, many times of the host fee of 3 croes.
