I think its sad how people are defaming Aamir when the discussion should be on the topics that the show satyamev jayate is discussing about. Anyways, I was waiting for this show for the longest time and I am not disappointed by it. The show started with a melancholy feeling and somber monologue by Aamir discussing the issues that prevails in India.

The topic itself female foeticide is not a new thing to me. I loved how the show was not preachy but it gave you the facts and showed the research behind it. It dwelled into the preconceived notion of how only poor and lower class families acts like that and how it is act of "illiteracy." I also love the little anecdote by the victims and their supporters and how they have evolved in their struggle. Kudos to the district officer, the journalist and the unsung heroes who through their actions try to bring the smallest change as possible.

Sundays will never be the same and I love how the show had brought every family into their living room and have a discussion about it. Although I don't know if the show can bring some changes but I believe it will make people to think and discuss about their actions. I am awaiting for the next episode...

PS: O re chiraya song made me teary eyed and its beautiful lyrics brought a lump in my throat...

I watched the show today and could not describe the absolute disgust for the many people that made women go through such a horrible phase. The woman who literally had her face bitten off because she gave birth to two girls was the worst. Damn, I felt for her. The picture of her after the surgery was heart-wrenching.

Even I was surprised to know female foeticides happen largely with the educated crowd. It was such a contrast to the girl on the street who gave birth to a girl and is leading a happily married life with her husband as well. So sad to see that a family of doctors and professors could commit such a crime.

Hats off to Aamir Khan! The man truly deserves to be saluted for his efforts. The episode felt so raw and inspiring.

This will be again an epic example over how to make money from serious issues by media through TRP.I don't understand why is the media blamed for everything?Even when it acts as a medium of information,it is doing something bad.😕

People will definitely watch the show and the host, all companies who sponsors and the TV channel are going to make million of bucks over milking such issues, but end result will be nothing because that's the reality. The show is all about how to milk emotional issues and making bucks.

That is inevitable when one has to broadcast such a show throughout India. The channel isnt DD which gives only information. It is a general entertainment channel, whose bread and butter are TRPS.They are putting 1.5 hours on stake on a morning time band on a day when people are either outside or still sleeping.Plus, the telecast charges,dubbing/subtitle in different languages. They need to recover the costs which they do with the advertisements, nothing else.

Indian public is emotional , that's why those 3rd grade sops and ekta kapoor made billions. Now these kind of shows with a TOP celeb will make billions for the producers . Each episode will make millions, many times of the host fee of 3 croes.
Who knows? It might also have an impact over the society too isn't it?When a film like Rang De Basanti can make a person organize a candle march as shown in RDB for the justice for Jessica campaign and make an impact over the country(leading to justice for Jessica),the show too can have an impact over the people. And I don't get this fees of the host logic. Why will he pay himself 3 crore rs,when he himself is producing it?
It isn't like I want you to agree with me,but just felt like replying to your post specially.

oh the stories were heart wrenching😭
I dont understand how can educated people like professors can stoop so low?
Doctors who kill the girl child left right and center will rot in hell.
Seriously you are not a Dr 😡

I am not against abortion in case of emergencies or teenage moms but female foeticide is a crime and a SIN.

just saw the episode and I am disgusted that I belong to a country in which such horrendous crimes are not accounted for. I'm glad that Aamir has decided to take a stand for it and I am so glad that he kept it simple and to the point, he focused on the issues rather than promoting himself

The stories were heart-wrenching and what I loved is that they looked into the entire issue rather than just focusing and just highlighting the issue. I was appalled at how the educated people are even behaving this way, when I heard that part I was shocked that such doctors are behaving this way and how the government even allows this, I hope that the sting operation gets its due properly and those imbeciles are put in jail for supporting this crime.

The song in the end made me lose it, tears literally started to flow when the song started to play, throughout the whole episode I was watching and I was just getting angry but the song with the visuals of the beautiful little girls and made me cry

Hats off to Aamir indeed, lets hope that this show makes an impact

education has nothing to do with being rational...or even acting human

you could be in the highest echelons of indian society and still caste system survives..and continues..so is the whole idea of the son being the support and girl child needing a protector

Not just india... have you even come across FGMs in africa..i was quite angry after reading waris derie's biography..in indian and african cultures, it somehow attaches itself to cultural issues..

Female foeticide is just a minor part of the girl child being put down mentally and physically...

i havent finished watching it fully... ssorry abt the rant
