I don't have a problem with mindless comedies or mindless films but I feel like the "quality" of those type of films has deteriorated substantially over the last few years. I loved Welcome, No Entry, Masti, OSO, SIK (though I didn't think it was that good at the time). Those films are 10000000000000000000000 times funnier and better than the shit called Golmaal series, anything Sajid Khan/Anees Bazmee/David Dhawan/ and the likes make.

Nevermind. I am confused. Billa did ya tweet that?

OT: The mindless genre is for the mindless and we all want to feel mindless at times. Nothing wrong with it as long as the filmmakers aren't pretentious about their product...*cough* SLB *cough*

I get sick of it. last time I enjoyed a mindless genre was Pyaar Ka Punchnama.

I dislike Akshays film lately. I didnt even like Khatta Meetha.

What do you mean you did not even? You were NOT supposed to like it. That film was like 3 hours of slapstick and then you have a five minute of a very violent rape scene and murder. HAW?! Where did it come from and why was it even there? What was that film about?!

hahahhaha, Yes! I'm well, never better! I've missed your topics, Ashu. hope you're well too. I seriously don't mind mindless comedies, but its trite. It's the same with books, music, art. I would prefer a same kind of film 2-3x, but after that I'm not going to enjoy over and over. I'm the same guy who talks bad about SRK's acting and I've actually enjoyed most of his films. but seriously, bollywood is overdoing it with mindless genre.

Also, it's a proven fact that Asians lack creativity because our ancestors have always pushed us in Math and Science department.

I doubt anything is going to change. 🤔

I've enjoyed Priyadarshan's old films and I always look forward to his film, but after Khatta Meetha I was just super disappointed. each of his film have rona dhona after creating a lot of chaos in the beginning. Khatta Meetha was terrible.

I don't mind mindless movies. Amidst all the epic love stories, and movies with heartfelt messages, I think it's good to have some comedy as well. But I do agree, recently I haven't seen a good "mindless" film. I'm sorry, but I hated Dabangg. Overrated to the core. 🥱 DB was okay, I guess? LOL.

Agree, that the "mindless" space is a bit too overcrowded in Bollywood these days... someone needs to make a nice college romance with newcomers and with some mindblowing music- I am missing that genre now!😛

I too don't mind mindless comedies but it irks me when I see a message at the start of a film like Housefull 1 saying This film is a tribute to Hrishikeh Mukherjee🤢
I personally did not enjoy Housefull 2 because I didn't see anything new from the last installment.
And after Ikke pe Ikka I at least expect some intelligent comedy from Sajid.
