Of course i know one is a religion and other is not... 😆 I was just answering Ana that Babita's mom's was a christian. I assumed she knew one of the parents was a hindu, thats why i didn't want to repeat that so i was just saying that he was a Sindhi.

I know you know, which is why I wrote that about nitpicking. But in the end I still do, because as I wrote in the other post, when it's written like that... it gives off an impression of equating the two in the same category.

If there weren't people who made mistaken assumptions regarding religion and ethnicity, I wouldn't have really cared. But people often do, which is why I always nitpick. 😆

But considering you are describing her mom's religion/religious community, the sentence gives the impression of equating the religious identity with the ethnic identity and community.

Her father is Sindhi, but probably Hindu? As for her mom, I guess we don't know her ethnicity, or maybe she's English since Kareena sometimes mentions her mom's English background.

Babita's mom was a british national.

12 pages of discussion on why kareena doesnt call karishma "Didi"?? 😆

To me it's a personal choice, my sis and cousins have always called me Didi, and now even my sisters friends started called me Didi at times (which frankly is kind a annoying) but Oh well...😆

Babita is half Christian half (her mother Barbara was Christian and a British national, her dad Hari Shivdasani was a Sindhi and a Hindu), father is a Punjabi and a Hindu.

I too felt the same. IMO it is a part of indian culture to give respect to your elder sister or brother. I call my elder brother "Bhaiya". I address my cousin sisters who are much elder to me as "Didi".
Its fine if your cousin is the same age as you or may be 1-2 years elder, then you need not call him or her bhaiya/didi.
