😆😆 Perhaps becoz that will make Karishma feel her age!😉😆😆 Most stars address their siblings by name, may copying the west or for the public to know their sibling's name😛😆😆 A few secs of fame for them😉😆😆😆

But if the TM is serious on topic. then i would say in some regions it may be disrespectful or necessary to address your elders with bhai, didi, etc

however its not necessary EVERYWHERE. i have an older sibling n younger i or they have always adressed each other by name. heck i dont even call my bhabi, bhabi loll i adress her by name as well.😆

not everyone has same thinking. And isnt Kareena half catholic or something? they dont say "sister" "brother" either😊

No, that's not really true. It is in some cases, but it's no different than Hindus, Muslims or other people of other religion who don't use "sister" or "brother." And it's also dependent on other factors such as which community one belongs to.

Shopkeepers, maids, drivers etc address people as such, Even a very elderly shopkeeper will address much younger people as didi. What annoys me is educated neighbours much older than you addressing you as aunty. 🤪As soon as I got out of my school uniform I started getting addressed as aunty.

The ones younger than me its understandable... But these 40+year olds calling me didi... 😆 That's what i find annoying...

I'm sorry I don't mean to nit pick... but...

one is a religious identification, the other is an ethnic identification.

But considering you are describing her mom's religion/religious community, the sentence gives the impression of equating the religious identity with the ethnic identity and community.

Her father is Sindhi, but probably Hindu? As for her mom, I guess we don't know her ethnicity, or maybe she's English since Kareena sometimes mentions her mom's English background.
