😕 This girl had everything someone could ask for when starting in Bollywood. She starred in a blockbuster movie with Shahrukh Khan and was off to an amazing start. But, if one takes a look at her films after OSO, it is very mixed and mostly dissapointing. She may have had some good successes in films like Bachna Ae Haseeno, Love Aaj Kal, and Housefull. However, most of her acting has been written off in so many films like Chandni Chowk to China, Karthik Calling Karthik, Lafangey Parindey, Break Ke Baad, and Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey. She is getting decent reviews in Aarakshan, but hardly has any exciting films coming up. Desi Boyz will not be a movie that revolves around her and Cocktail is hardly a commercial film. Is DEEPIKA PADUKONE losing it bigtime? What does she need to do to step up her game? Even Anushka is going to give her some stiff competition soon!

I think this girl has the talent and looks, but needs good scripts and has to be cautious with her choices! Otherwise, will she fizzle out after a year or two?

She always get this mixed feedback from critics/audience. She could have been fabulous but she turned around to be just about "okay", she need to improve and perhaps need really good director who can take best from her, these silly comedies wont take her anywhere but will give her so called hits, I think that what she is after anyways.

I think she's doing fine for a 2007 fresher

I mean yeah, she's not always striking gold at the box office but dekho na.. everyone's always talking about her

there's always a buzz around her, and for some reason, people are still pretty dang interested in what she's been up to

her "spicy" offscreen life attracts many, and I think she uses that to her advantage when she isn't raking in the money.

She may be a bitch when it comes to dealing with fellow industry waale but frankly, there's something about her I like, very much.

Not many actresses are able to be THIS busy during a personal recession ahaha

Anushka was pretty pathetic in a movie with Shahid so its not like she does not need great role to shine, she was lucky to get a awesome role in BBB.

Deepika needs a better written roles, she did not played a role with loads of layers.

She has the looks the appeal to go a little further. Acting talent isn't a requirement these days she just needs to stick to the basics and get a good script with a well crafted role. I have no idea why she signed "Cocktail" I hope it has nothing to do with just the title name.

She needs to play her cards right. Be smart.
Pick the right kind of scripts and work with the right kind of people. After all, sadly enough...bollywood works more on connection than talent.
Like you said, she has to be cautious with her choices.
I think Aarakshan is going in the right direction. And Cocktail should be good for her since its with Saif...her pairing with Saif has worked, people like it. And i really do think she has everything else working for her...great debut, looks, talent, and fan base. Now its all about choices.
