I saw it. I thought I would hate it but I didn't. It filmmaking at it's worst lol from a cinematic perspective it's a horrible film...but it had a point. I also realize the movie's target audience was men who love bikini girls and think they are only worth scoring. the target audience was people who do not watch good cinema and like watching white chicks in bikinis and girls in minis....it is a film made very badly as said above...but i didn't hate it.

there are some good things abt the film. it showed:
1) if men cheat on you does not mean you should die. there is a very good lecture by akshay to sonam.
2) if men can cheat so can women and when women do cheat men react violently. should see how bobby reacts when sonam pretends to cheat on him. it's hilarious. like hellooooo???
3) respect women for their love, their sacrifice. even today many many women get married thinking their husbands love them only to be abused and cheated on...maybe men think they are worthless coz they don't earn and seem like burden....but they are not worthless and akshay's another lecture tried to drive home that point.

The bad:
even if you cheat women will forgive you because they love you so much and are so forgiving LOL! i wish they tried to do something about this point! i don't particularly feel good about this..i think that trying to glorify our sacrifcing forgiving nature men wants us to feel good about it so we don't go out there and earn and be independent....and just be happy oh we are so sarcrificing lol. not working. and i think this is what will make women angry. especially the independent ones.

it's kind of funny that these lectures are coming from akki LOL...who's probably like one of those cheaters in the movie or he was and ab sudhar gaya kya pata...but who knows a cheater telling other cheaters dude it's not a good thing might be a good thing? lol.

but there was something good in it. not sure if the front benchers in single screens got anything out of it. hope they did coz i think they were the main target. at least it wasn't pointless. and the points were made without any subtlety or nuance...just plain simple crude lol.

i am not sure what Anna Vetticad was saying abt defending men....coz the version I saw I didn't see Akki saying that oh its a chhoti si aadat of men....whne did he say that?

I went with no expectations at all, so that's why I think that it wasn't as bad as the reviews are making it out to be. Sure, it was stupid and it wasn't a good film in any sense, but I think this that some reviews are trashing the movie just for the sake of you know, trashing it.

I hated the subject and the theme or whatever it was, but it did have a few funny moments. There was one scene (forgot which scene it was exactly) that my friend found SO funny that she choked on her blue slushie and it even came outta her nose. We got so worried for her there. 🤣 Throughout the whole film I felt like I was watching another 'Masti' or 'No Entry' but yeah, that is something I expected.

Andddd, I hate the whole "men can cheat and be forgiven but it doesn't work like that for woman" kinda belief. Infidelity is wrong in my eyes no matter who does it - man or woman - but how come when a man cheats, a woman is expected for forgive and forget but the same thing cannot be said to a man when a woman cheats?
Also, Irfan Khan's character was SO bloody mean with Rimi Sen's, so why the heck did she not leave him?

Akshay Kumar was his usual self, like he is in all his comedies. I don't even expect anything outta him. Bobby Deol was boring. I actully found Suniel Shetty and Irfan Khan funny in some scenes (hated their characters). Celina Jaitley was hardly there and she had like what, 5 lines? Rimi Sen was okay-ish with whatever she was given. I actually found her funny in some scenes too. Sonam Kapoor was inconsistent, IMO. In some scenes, I found her cringe-worthy, while in others, she was strictly okay. Her role did not have much scope so I guess that's why. She looked gorgeous though. I don't know which reviewer it was, but someone said that Sonam's make-up was bad. Well, I beg to differ there. I don't know where and how her make-up was bad. She looked absolutely fine to me. Anddd, I just love her smile.

Songs - Full Volume is the only one that I wouldn't mind listening to again, but who the hell sang that female's part?! Such a sqeaky voice. Sonam was so cute in this song (is this really me?) Also, I just gotta add this - songs these days are so weird; one says "volume kam kar" while the other one goes like, "full volume...turn up that volume." 😆

Also, that scene where Sonam was about to commit suicide looked SO fake. It was so obvious (to me atleast) that the scene was not shot at Niagra Falls. It seemed as if it was just a screenshot of the background.

So, I'd go with a 2/5 for Thank You. If you don't watch it, then that's perfectly fine (because it's not like you're going to me missing out on some brilliant film) but if you do end up watching it, chances are that MAYBE a scene here and there would make you laugh, and piss you off too at the same time.
The thing with my friends and I is that we aren't picky with our movies at all. If there's a Bollywood movie playing on a Friday, we decide to go (after taking a few factors into consideration). Plus, we knew what we were in for so if there was anyone to blame for wasting our time, it was us only, especially if we end up not liking the movie.

the only saving grace of the film was irfan .....the film was a complete trash but still couldn't outdo tmk as the worst film ever.........it's high time sonam puts her act together & smells the cofee......she seriously needs a crash course in acting.......untill sometime i really thought she could act but needed somebody to tap her potential but thank you just killed it for me .......i wonder why i still continue to watch out for her.....from the very start i have had a soft spot for her but she continued to disappoint me with her performances... sonam really needs to pull up her socks ......all her contemporaries have raced far ahead mind you it's not just the number of hit films in their kitty but also their performances........deppika i felt couldn't act for nuts but she has shown a marked improvement.......she still has a long way to go but is atleast capable of delivering a decent performance unlike sonam who seems to be getting worse with every film......i liked her in sawariya loved her in dehli 6.the film was not all that gr8 but she showed spark.......thereafter her performances went downhill thank you being her worst ever.....it's quite a pity since she is blessed with a classic face.... breathtakingly beautiful & has this old world charm & innocence which most of the actresses today lack only wish she could act........sonam i feel lacks the drive i only hope she proves me wrong with mausam...the posters did look promising & hope she doesn't disappoint me with mausam.......

Thank You Review - Sickeningly Bad

Never let it be said that Bollywood star Akshay Kumar does not stoop to a new low with each new film.

If the new Bollywood film Thank You, its director Anees Bazmee and lead star Akshay Kumar prove anything at all, it's that Indian films are, for the most part, made by retards for returds.

Folks, there's not one redeemable element in the 2-hours and 20-minutes of this crap-show. Not one!

What is intended as a comedy about marital infidelities and constant philandering of three men turns out to be nothing but one of those epic horror-shows that the Bollywood clowns churn out with monotonous frequency.

If you thought Akshay Kumar's last two movies Patiala House and Tees Maar Khan were bad, well, they're masterpieces compared to this drivel a.k.a. Thank You.

Insufferable Trash
The acting is intolerable, the story and screenplay insufferable, the music unendurable and the overall damage to our tender souls inestimable.

How such garbage manages to hit the screens worldwide is a mystery known but to UTV (producer and distributor), Akshay Kumar and Anees Bazmee.

The two arch-villains at the epicenter of this trash are, of course, Anees Bazmee (writer and director) and Akshay Kumar (hero and by the way his wife Twinkle Khanna is co-producer of the film), on whose shoulder rests the fate of this piece of trash.

Almost every single performer in the movie including Sonam Kapoor, Celina Jaitly, Suneil Shetty, Akshay Kumar, a simian-looking creature playing the role of the Mafia don King's assistant Ghajini and Bobby Deol make asses of themselves.

Irrfan Khan and Rimi are tolerable, but barely so.

Sonam Kapoor, particularly, was a complete disappointment. In a key scene where her character is about to jump into the swirling waters of Niagara Falls, Sonam is all at sea as Akshay Kumar's Kishan dissuades her from doing so. God, how we wished she'd taken the plunge. Our misery would have been shorter by 45-minutes.

In a lifeless performance, Akshay Kumar is Kishan, a private detective, hired by the wronged women Sanjana (Sonam Kapoor), Shivani (Rimi Sen) and Maya (Celina Jaitly) to teach their errant philandering husbands a lesson.

The mediocre acting and asinine story that, besides the sophomoric and unfunny antics of the three men and the private detective, also involves a Mafia Don and Canadian Intelligence Services officials (speaking Hindi, of course) takes a heavy toll on viewers and inflicts a splitting migraine by the end of the show.

Horrid Music
It's, perhaps, fitting that a movie so horrible should be accompanied by horrid dances and awful music. The item number featuring Mallika Sherawat sets a new low even by the lowly standards of Bollywood.

Your favorite blog SearchIndia.com strongly advises you against seeing this sickeningly bad film.

If any Bollywood movie deserves the middle finger, it's Thank You. Guys, hesitate not. Lift your middle finger with gusto and tell the Bollywood bozos that you'll not stand for such garbage any more.

🤣

I think one could have made out how Thank You was going to fare by just looking at its promos.

Not impressive at all. And who wants another movie talking about cheating spouses anyway?
