Zeenat disappointed with Pritam's Dum Maaro Dum

Zeenat Aman of the hugely popular Dum Maro Dum (from Hare Krishna Hare Ram, 1971) number is very disappointed with Pritam Chakraborty's new age rendition of the song.

Zeenat said, "Frankly I was deeply disappointed by the re-mix. I haven't seen it. But I did hear the song.

And it just doesn't sound right. In the original, there was a certain innocence in Asha Bhonsle's voice and also in the lyrics. What I've heard here just left me cold."

The former sex icon is also hurt about the fact that the original artistes were not informed about the new version before it was made. "Forget me.

Ashaji should certainly have been taken into confidence. She is the voice of Dum Maro Dum. I don't think we should forget that."

she disappointed with the song but not the video. Even I didn't like the song....I don't even like the original to be honest. But the videos I love, the original Zeenat looked so beautiful and the remix, deepz looks so hot but hopefully no item songs for deepu after that...lol

Seems like I should really check out Deepika's DMD song. It's about time.

Today while I was talking with my friend about going to watch a new Indian movie one of these days I randomly asked her if she saw Deepika's new 'item song' and she said this - "omg i started it but shut it off in the first 15 seconds...it so soooo scary and bad." Lol that's exactly what she said. I was like ooooookay. 😆

I think more than Deepika...it's the lyrics that sucked. And obviously the people behind making of the songs and Deepika didn't work hard enough on the songs. When kat was doing Shelia ki jawani, she took 3 classes just to get those belly dancing perfect. When u work hard on something, it pays off. Deepika didn't seem interested in the song...why did she do it than?

Deepika is a great dancer, and I loved her in OSO songs and LAK songs...with DMD, I don't think she herself believed in it!

Who isn't?

I feel like they wanted to go for shock value with the lyrics..but it backfired quite badly. Most people I know never managed to finish listening to the song.
