I still haven't braved to see the song after reading about the potty line. At first I thought it was a joke...but it wasn't!!! LOL!! But the song did get people's attention....aaj kal tou bas wahi hai...attention....good or bad...people know na DMD is a movie and it is releasing soon. LOL! I wasn't happy with Sheila either...not even Munni. I thought they were alll bad....but it just got progressively worse...total potty now.

I feel like they wanted to go for shock value with the lyrics..but it backfired quite badly. Most people I know never managed to finish listening to the song.

I've only seen the first teaser...never heard the song nor did I watch the vid 🤢

Yes aajkal any publicity is good publicity..people might go to actually see why it's so bad 😆

When Munni and Sheila came out I wasn't very impressed and going gaga like the nation was..but man Deeps' item number makes Munni/Sheila look Oscar worthy..😆

Kat: I only saw a little bit of the actual promo..couldn't get past the potty line.

Actually believe it or not, on some music website DMD is #1 top song! 😲

I say some website because I don't know how credible it is lol. But usually they are right with the ranking...when sheila and munni came out they were ranked at the top.

PS I loved SKJ and Munni. 😳

Jaideep Sahni clears the air about the song 'Mit Jaye Gham' Click here to add this article to My Clips

By Bollywood Hungama News Network, March 29, 2011 - 13:02 IST

The song 'Mit Jaye Gham' from Rohan Sippy's Dum Maaro Dum has been in the news since the time of its release. Although the young listeners seem to be hooked on to the track, there is a certain section of people who seem to find the lyrics of the song too bold for their taste.

One of the most respected writers of Bollywood, Jaideep Sahni, who has written some of the biggest blockbusters like Company, Khosla Ka Ghosla and Chak De India and has also penned the lyrics for Salaam Namaste, Bluffmaster, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and many more films, has also written the lyrics for Dum Maaro Dum.

Jaideep explains what ideas went into the creation of 'Mit Jaye Gham' in the following piece. Over to Jaideep…

"These lines are actually taken from a longer piece of rap, written specifically for a situation of drug pushers and users in a drug induced delirium. The rap form was chosen because it's very effective in reflecting anti-establishment thought and behaviour, and usage of strong words to make a larger meaning is inherent to the very form.

They were selected and placed together with the famous hippie song of the 70s in a directorial decision and vision to bring out the contrast between earlier hippie culture and today's drug mafia which is vicious and brutal. It's basically related to the subject of the film and hopefully will be seen in better clarity once the film releases.

Otherwise, I'm busy with my own scripts and have no interest in making changes in classics, especially by the writer to whom I had dedicated my best lyricist award just last year.

I can only conclude that there is a case for a better sharing with the listeners how and why lyrics are written, so they have an opportunity to view works from that perspective.

I hope this contributes in that direction."

they killed the orginal song and deepika looks bad and scary at the same time. they are just shouting the whole time in the song. before they remake a song they should seriously think about it rather than messing it up for the audience.

So another copy of course. Although what rap song places an emphasis on potty? Usually rap songs focus on the bling, fame, and women

Poor Zeenat..I wonder what she would say if she saw the video..it is equally bad..the choreography sucks, and everyone in the vid looks like they are dressed for halloween , esp. deepika's costume 👎🏼..The original DMD rocked, it was so natural, thier costumes, movements etc. but this one just looks just like another Mtv wannabe vid
