Hi Guys, Im just writing this topic on the current climate of bollywood today so its just a bit fun and opnions of everyone and not offending anyone in anyway! i think Bollywood these days is nothing but a joke and to con the audiences for example there was a time great films in the 1990-200 that you troughly enjoyed watching and decent songs nowadays all scripts are copied from Hollywood and Authors nothing is original and they seem like they are running out of ideas or innovative stuff (e.g Tees Maar Khan) Actors do everything for publicity notice how they onl come on twitter to promote film or send links to their pics, videos, director Farah khan was on twitter 24/7 and after film flops shes no where to be seen i find that really low and fake to! If they do charity theres always the press and media there to show how noble they are! i dont find anyone a good role model they lie blue in there face about relationships as just good freinds when they are seen with them unexpectedly and then look like a fool. they bitch about each other and then hug at an event or party etc so double standards. they lie about surgery in hollywood most of them will admit it, overall im fed up with the way bollywood deals with things as everything is a PR strategy to make money even the awards are rigged

Agreed to a large extent. Bollywood has progressed quite differently from the yesteryears. I guess we can call it more "fake" now; lot of two-faced people. And Twitter, too is mostly used by celebs as a way to stay in the news and promote movies.

Lots of movies these days are also whatever- for example, Tees Maar Khan, Singh Is King, etc. Dumb comedies and fooling the audiences.

However, I am happy that Bollywood does have some actors/actresses out there, that are actually good and deliver good, understandable films. Unfortunately, not all of them are popular like Katrina Kaif..but still. Take Konkona Sen for example.. she's a really good actress- sadly underrated. But I guess thats another minus about bollywood- underrated actors are always ignored. There have also been some good movies- like Munnabhai, 3 Idiots, etc.

But you are right..bollywood today, is not all that wonderful and innocent.

Honestly, though- we can criticize bollywood all day here..but why doesn't anything change? Why do we keep interest in bollywood, if there is nothing good about it? Why don't we, as an audience, try to change it? The truth is..here, many people might agree with you..but out there, in the real world, lots of people enjoy movies like Singh Is King..and like watching actors that can't act, like Katrina Kaif. It's just the way it is..and I don't see it changing anytime soon.

I completely agree with the topic maker. You said what was on my kind for some time now. There was a time when I was completely clued-in as to what was happening in Bollywood--films, personal lives, everything. I knew the tunes and lyrics of most of the '90s songs by heart....even the ones i hated. šŸ˜† For the last 6-7 years I have been feeling this lack of interest in anything Bollywood-related. I can't remember the songs (can't understand what they are singing half the time!), hate the "actors", can't relate to the storylines...I thought it was age catching up.....but it seems other people feel the same.

I mean just look at the actors who were ruling Bollywood in the '90s : Sridevi, Madhuri, Juhi and later Karishma, Tabu, Kajol, Manisha.....and look at the Priyankas and Katrinas today. Most of the guys are still around though: Aamir, Salman, SRK...but barring Aamir they are all caricatures of themselves.

The storylines are completely oblivious to the struggles and emotions of the common man. They showcase weirdos who live in some impossible bubble of affluence.

I think the rot started after the multiplex and Internet boom. Twitter is for twits desperate for publicity, so I don't wonder that Bollywood stars were the first ones to hop onto it.

Totally agree with ya. These days you only see naked bimbos like Kat and the likes dancing with vulgarity.🤢 Gone are days when movies had innocent actors and storylines.šŸ˜•

P.S. Pardon the language. 😊

wonderful topic!

Bollywood was the best during 90s- n early 2000s. I wish bollywood would go back to those days. I liked the storylines, the dances, the actors even though it was all cheesy but it wasnt all abt having a great figure and whoever reveals the most becomes popular šŸ‘ŽšŸ¼. like bwood had talent back in the way, nowadays a lot of them cant act !! and all these good actorreses (juhi, preity, karishma) are disappearing. and so many fiiiiights! everywhere... it;s crazy, everyone has an issue wit one another. and why the heck two actoresses can't be friends? too much drama.. yet b-wood is still addicting šŸ˜†
as for the movies, i only look forward to aamir, srk, and salman's movies. (well ranbir and shahid are good too)
