Nah this guy is seriously over rated. He ends up getting an award when nominated. Many times undeservingly. Taal got a Filmfare award when Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam was clearly better. Saathiya won over Devdas...that was a joke. Guru's score was mediocre, but that won over OSO.
I am glad he is not even nominated this year, because that automatically means he'll win. These awards are rigged.

As For Oscars, he was at the right place at the right time. There was no good score for competition.

yeah ar rehman is wayyyyyy overrated. jai ho was nothing exceptional. it was just something different so it won and ur right there was no good competition.

AR Rahman has already name a name as one to the greatest music legends in india...he is amazing and i think most ppl respect him a lot. i love him!! i liked the music for ravaan buts its okay...personally i rly liked the music from guzarrish dis yr.

That's exactly why I made that disappointed with nominations post....AR Rahman makes the best music and background score...so him not being nominated was utter BS!

Though yes, he's likely not to win this year, but a nomination is no joke.

there is always a talk of ARR stealing beats mostly from his mentor(Ilayaraja anyone) but not an entire song.

it's not like the awards he won were for inferior tracks... he was just as brilliant in Taal as HDDCS... could have been anyone's game... and same with the others... 😛😛😛
