Great news. Confirmed by NDTV. Jai Ho!

How pathetic that he's being honored everywhere in the world except in India. His fabulous score in 'Raavan' is not even receiving nominations in Indian awards, where as a plagiarized album 'Dabangg' by Sajid-Wajid is walking away with the 'Best Music' awards.

Im glad ARR is getting a lot of recognition, but I dodubt if he would win an Oscar this year.

He has won fourteen Filmfare Awards, eleven Filmfare Awards South, four National Film Awards. And you say he is not appreciated in India??

Nah this guy is seriously over rated. He ends up getting an award when nominated. Many times undeservingly. Taal got a Filmfare award when Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam was clearly better. Saathiya won over Devdas...that was a joke. Guru's score was mediocre, but that won over OSO.
I am glad he is not even nominated this year, because that automatically means he'll win. These awards are rigged.

As For Oscars, he was at the right place at the right time. There was no good score for competition.

That's sad when he's not being nominated in his own country but the rest of the world viewed his work as excellent this year, regardless that Raavan flopped

sorry but raavan was by no means an excellent album.2-3 nice songs but nothing extraordinary.you dont have to get nominated every freakin year you work.he has received LOADS of awards in this country.just because he's not nominated this year doesn't mean he's underrated.

👏 Congratulations... ARR... One guy who is truly deserving....

Even some of his mediocre compositions are far better than so many of the chartbusters churned out in Bollywood every other day....

well, it's your opinion, but i don't agree with you... watever awards he won were quite deserving...!

everyone popular is called overrated at one time or the other, and that i guess is just our own personal preference...!

it's not like the awards he won were for inferior tracks... he was just as brilliant in Taal as HDDCS... could have been anyone's game... and same with the others... 😛😛😛
