Oscars is not about Hollywood honey, its about good cinema irrespective of what language it is in.

And yes of course Filmfare is possibly the most prestigious award ever and never is biased towards a couple of surnames and families.

Aamir should forget the Oscars and strive to get a Filmfare, because that the true representation of cinematic excellence.

then theres amir who never attends any awards, not even to collect his own ones

i just remember he won a best director for TZP (wot happened to Amol Gupte) & he wasnt there

i thought he'd be happy getting any award for his "first award as a debut director"

as well as ff awards i think national awards are a big deal for hindi cinema

so yeah, always being desperate for an oscar is not so good.& if india are are desperate for one why dont they send other films?

they all enjoyed once upon a lifetime in mumbai, love, sex aur dhoka, that film where rr is the villain

why not send them? will never understand.

People have personal choices and its Aamir's prerogative on which awards he wants to collect and which he doesnt. I'm not sure why that bothers you. Anyways most bollywood awards are senseless shows with loads of buffoonery, so I guess it makes no differnce to him.

The reason Peepli was sent was because it dealt with dark humour and showed Indian villages and their real issues.

But personally I enjoyed LSD more than PL, but in the west hundreds of movies similar to LSD have released, so it made no sense to send a similar movie, thereby killing any chance we had.

now that part i'll admit i didnt know

i thought this was a hollywood awards & india are trying to get one. to prove what i dont know

so if every kind of cinema is sending their best films forward obviously 1 will get chosen & others will be disappointed, that does not mean hindi cinema is not good

anyway india can keep trying & one day they'll probably get one

I don't think people organising bollywood awards take them seriously. They're just having a laugh at the voter's expense.😆

I'm not knocking the Oscar's but as far as I'm aware (correct me if I'm wrong please), the academy votes for the awards right? This basically comprises of a group of Hollywood actors and people that work in film?

I think the issue is not whether the Oscar's are better than Bollywood awards (which imo they are!) but rather, should we really be judge a film's merit based on the opinion of a characteristically homogeneous group of individuals. It would be a different matter if the voters where made up of actors and technicians from all around the world.

Either way, if you like a film, you like it. Does it really matter if it has an award or not?

I agree with that.

Aamir finally got his clout....I wish people wouldn't be after him for getting the attention. He struggled years and years to get this kind of clout....thora usse enjoy tou karne do na! Other people have enjoyed such things for so many years na.... 😆

they are adding so many different catergories to give one to everyone

why not just tell the whole industry to form a line & give them out 1 by 1 instead 😆

cant take this years awards seriously. God only knows what they'll to do filmfare & how many new catergories have been hastily added to match the others

😆 That was hilarious... Well, anyone at top has to face the heat....its part of the game! Anyways, nothing against Aamir.. he can make whatever he wants.. but seriously they gotta consider movies from outside bollywood.. the way i look at things bolly is stuck inside its comfort zone..there are no fresh ideas, no fresh themes.. rarely anyone is pushing the envolope!!
