^^ Exactly!
We have actresses wearing pretty much nothing and people sucking each other's noses and eyelids out but somehow two people kissing is considered more awkward.

Totally agree you. Don't know why now-a-days producers are keen on putting kissing scenes on their films. It's only suitable for hollywood, not for bollywood.

I dunt get the hypocrisy sumtimes....its "romantic" when srk runs his lips down a womans neck, or when sridevi shakes suggestively in a wet saree, or when madhuri thumps her chest.....and kissing is what makes people uncomfortable???...LOL......

both would make me feel awkward if i watch it with my parents...! 😛
and i think that goes for other people as well... so don't assume that people who are uncomfortable with kissing scenes and other suggestive scenes are okay with wet saree songs, etc... 😛😛
i guess, in our culture and the way most of us are brought up, it makes us a bit uncomfortable to watch such movies with our parents... just one of those things...
i was soo embarrassed when i saw the movie Beta with my mom... and we forwarded the song, thankfully... i was pretty young at that time, but even now, if we rewatch it, i forward the song, if i am watching with mom... though, i tend to forward songs when i am watching it by myself as well... 😆 not because i am uncomfortable, but because it just seems like an unnecessary drag....
besides, most of the bollywood filmmakers don't know how to film a proper kissing scene...!

Well, if you are showing couple in love, then how can they have no kiss? Kiss is a reality not the two flowers coming together on screen!

JWM was so sweet... and yes, i agree about the 3 idiots one too...
but kurbaan... ummm, no... i would not watch it with my parents...! 😆 same with dhoom 2... it seemed so forced... thankfully, it was short, and lucky fo me, i did not watch it with my parents... 😆
mostly, our filmmakers just don't know how to do film any kisses tastefully... i mean, most of the hollywood movies, i never feel awkward watching the kiss, but most of the bollywood movies, just can't say the same...!
and about the revealing dresses and the baarish songs, the less said the better... remember in the 90's, almost every other movie had a baarish song...

oh dont remind me of that Dhak Dhak song from Beta 😆 it was all over the TV too during that time. I still remember there was some controversy when that song and Choli ke peeche were a rage. Saroj Khan actually said Madhuri's character was in heat and that was conveyed very effectuvely by that song😆

there's nothin wrong in kissing on screen...seriously we are in 2010 and not some stone age....yea there is no need to depict it vulgarly.but if its done n shot nicely why not?

and srk-kajol did not have to kiss cuz shah rukh never kisses any of his female co stars. 😆

oh yeah, i remember... when we brought the movie, i did not watch it with my parents though i really wanted to see khalnayak.... because i was so embarrassed and did not want to watch it... then i saw it with my mom alone and we forwarded the songs...! 😆😆 good old days...!
i remember in those times, they had so many baarish songs... the mohra songs, tip tip barsa and tu cheez were quite controversial too... even to date, it's soo embarassing to listen even... especially the female version...! 😆😆
