I agree Aish might be known internationally but I think she is not more popular than top actress of today in India and in places where its not USA. Because in Africa people don't care that she is beautiful, most Africans like Kajol but only because she has done a lot of films with SRk lol because most of them only know SRK and no other actors.

But Aish has done it all I don't agree. There is not one role where she made me say OH WOW that girl is amazing when it comes to acting. I loved her in Taal and HDDCS and few other films which I though she was good but not great. She still needs to come up with a film where we can see that was Aish's film and no one can do that film better than Aish.
Like Kareena = Jab We Met (acting) or K3G (for glam)
Priyanka = Fashion(acting) or Dostana (for Glam)

These two actress Kareena and Priyanka have films that can be said WOW they can act and are unique and are gonna be in the industry for long. That is why they are top actress. I don't feel the same way about Aish.

One actress that simply "awed" me with her performance was Rani in Black!
IMO I haven't seen one challenging role from Aish!

No actor or actress should let stardom get to their head. That messes up everything. And you achieve nothing out of it. Sorry to say, this is exactly what has happened to Aish. Where's that personality that she carried during her HDDCS time? Talking crap about actresses is also not the way to go!! I'm sorry, but that just disgusts me!

Aishwarya's ultimate glam roll was Dhoom 2. And acting was the recent Raavan. Irrespective of the film's box office fate, most critics said she was very powerful as Raghini. I can post at least 10 reviews to prove it. Please give credit where it is due.

Aish was horrible in Dhoom 2. Her glam roll didn't work there. She looked the part but did not pull it off with acting...she was not convincing. Yes Ravaan critics praised her but the ones i looked at didn't say it was an award worthy performance. Which PC and Kareena in fashion critics said it was an award worthy performance. One critic actually didn't praise her that much in Raavan whatz that guy name yes Rajeev Masand.


Rajev Masand said about Aish in Ravaan: Aishwarya, despite being the film's leading lady and the very cause of the film's conflict, has nothing much to do. She's left to scream and shriek and hiss and spit out her dialogue while looking lovely in every frame.

PS If Karishma has Fiza Kareena has Kurbaan

Ash' in Chokher Bali, Raincoat and Provoked was much superior and memorable than any of Kareena's movies I've seen. Honestly speaking, I found her role in JWM as pleasant as nails on chalkboard.
The original post was about Ash achieving all .. meaning success in different firlds. We can certainly say that there are just two Indian heroines who have a recognition in the global arena.. Frieda and Ash. People in my college still swear by Ash as the most beautiful Indian woman they have seen, if not the irritating title of Most Beautiful Woman on earth. Other Indian heroines can only dream of being on the Oprah show. or have a whole International L'oreal makeup range named after her. Yes, I agree she may not be the most accomplished actress but her success and achievements are quite outstanding by any standards.

Than why is Kareena role in Geet most talked about than any Aish's film? JWM is a classic because of Kareena's acting. Geet is the most memorable role than any Aish's role or film. JWM is still a favorite film to watch than any films Aish has done. Even Kareena's role in K3G, Poo is memorable even though it was not a great role. People still recall Poo's lines. What role or acting of Aish are people still recalling?


But everyone to its own. If you think Aish's role is more memorable than I respect your opinion nothing wrong with that am just giving my views. :)

You cannot say kareena's only done JWM.

Kareena fitted the character of Geet to the "t"...she was just fab in the film...i guess the whole onus of the film was on her shoulder...Don't get me wrong, Shahid was also there, but who cared about him...atleast i luk forward to seeing Kareena, her spontanty, her bubbliness in the 1st half n then her maturity in the 2nd half was a treat to watch...i believe only Kajol, Madhuri n Sridevi had the aura to stand out in a male dominated film industry, but now Kareena definately holds that position...i am no fan of her, but the girl has a hell lot of gud films n gud work to her credit,be it commercial or critical films...Give credit where it is due...

Has she achieved it all ? I think Relda pretty much nailed it .
Acting wise- Even though I loved her in Raincoat and Choker Bali , I will have to admit that Aishwarya is a director ;s actor and will perform well if the director is good . Many would say that SLB brings out the best in her but I prefer her in subtle roles like JA and CB. Kareena is no doubt a far superior actress.
Anyway , thats not the point.

Shes not a great actress but this is Bollywood and I doubt many people care (definitely not talking about IF here) . There is something definitely about her that makes her one of the most successful actresses and currently the highest paid.(despite being a non actor as many would say , not having too many hits , having 'insecurity issues' whatever that means , no memorable roles etc). Everyone can and does hire PR but to say Ash is where she is because of her PR is a tad much now.

Also this thread is about her 'achievements ' - I do not see the need to talk about her attitude and personality and relate that to her career !

But like someone mentioned - I think Guzarish is her last big one. Unfortunately I think this is it for her in B town. Though she has a couple of projects with Rituparno Ghosh and there were those articles about 'Timbaktoo' with Vishal B.
