most members use this as an excuse to criticise Deepika. There is something called constructive criticism and calling her mad and making a judgement on her earning demand is not one of them.

Why is it bothering some people here so much that Deepika can command a high price ? She obviously knows something about the role that we dont. She either thinks she deserves the price she is asking or the role that she is offered is so mediocre she decided it would be worth it only if she gets paid a lot.IMO there is much more going on here than just money. I am glad she thinks for herself instead of blindly saying yes to a well known director.And this girl is anything but stupid.

I don't think Deepika's worth as an actress is the same as PC for two reasons:

1) Deepika is relatively new,while PC is somewhat her senior

2) Deepika hasn't done the same quality of work as PC

BUT Deepika is a box-office bombshell at the moment and if she wants a pay increase then she's being smart and kudos to her!

How can someone compare katrina to deepika? :O

Katrina have been in the industry for 6 years now... while deepika have just been in the industry for 2 years :O

so how can you guys say that nor she can pull the crowds as katrina??
I mean lets compare Katrina movies to deepika movies when they are aqually old ...

I would understand someone conparing her movies to Asin/Anushka/Sonam/Kangana but KATRINA? :O

Katrina's 5 first movies were :

Boom , Sarkar, Maine Pyar kyun kiya, Humko deewana kar gaye , Namaste London.

Deepikas first 5 movies are:

OSO, BAH, CC2C, LAK, KCK and Housefull.

Compare these movies but do not compare 7 years with 3 years...

This director is having a hard time picking the other actress for the movie.

Katrina refused the movie because priyanka was in the movie, she didn't want negative publicity. And Kat also dropped out of the remake for "bridewar" because of priyanka.

Deepika wants the same pay as PC but the director was saying the issue was finding dates that all actors can agree on.

oh well let's see how this goes. I think it's great that deepika is asking for higher pay, she works really hard and she wants her earned money

It makes me wonder why KAtrina is remembered for her hits....and is conviniently forgotten about her flops.

I just read apost where somebody said I cann't remember Katrian giving flops....well Boom, Yuvraaj, Hello, Blue.....Hum Ko Diwana KArgaye....

I can only say Katrina has a veyr good PR manager while Deepika needs one...

Anyways, Deepika is rising high in her 2 yrs old career....

Agree! Everyone has had a flop and a blockbuster! But this topic is strictly PC and Deepika so I don't understand why people keep bringing up Kat and other actresses. I'm not pointing the finger at you it's just a general comment. But I agree Deepike needs better PR. Also, Deepika being smart and if she wants a pay increase kudos to her!

I think there's always a double standard when it comes to women. I think if Ranbir or Imraan were paid the equivalent to let's say Hrithik or Abhishek, people wouldn't really care as much. BTW: I choose the first two guys as examples of newcomers b/c deepika started her career at the same time as them and Hrithik and Abhishek and PC started around the same time. Also if you're working at a company and you're on fire and top of your game you're obviously an asset to the company and that's prbably a good time to ask for a raise!
