I do agree with you Sanam that Freida isn't a star kid or beauty pageant winner. I truely believe that these star kids are over-rated when they don't even make a movie, they are already famous and have tons of fans without a movie. And beauty pageant winners, they win the beauty contest and join bollywood quickly...LOL

so yeah I agree that Freida is lucky. But she is over-rated, Dev patel was brilliant in the movie and the kids in the movie was also brilliant. Freida was in the movie for a little bit and her acting was okay, NOT amazing.

talent has more to do with the kind of director you are working with.. and woody allen has been known to bring out the best in his 'actors', if i may use the word..

Haha, you summed this up pretty well. And I agree with what psychobalehead said earlier, I found it really interesting to read the Tellybuzz comments or just any comments from people, who are fans of Bollywood on Freida. It was just incessant bashing, she isn't good enough to be considered for anything. And the thing is that I don't necessarily consider Jessica Alba, Meghan Fox, and the likes necessarily talented. But there is a thing called luck, and she has it. If you have gotten your lucky break, why not take advantage of it? Freida has charisma i.e. her interviews are charming, and she has been working the press circuit for awhile so she has been on every major show so that could be seen as annoying I guess.
Whatever, I am more excited about that Israeli film Miral that is going to be directed by Julian Schabnel(The Diving Bell and the Butterfly-love this movie to death) and is going to be about efforts to establish an orphanage by Hind Hosseini in 1948 after the partition. I have a soft for these types of movies that are set in Israel and in the West Bank i.e. Rana's Wedding so I think it will be really interesting.

it's funny how some of the fans would give a break to the star kids or beauty paegant winners but not an average looking girl.. both are lucky.. so when the others take advantage of their position, they are not criticised..
