of course that is obvious, isn't it..

but she is extremely lucky.. am happy for her because despite not having any connections to anyone, she has achieved quite a lot despite it is not through her talent.. at least she got a chance.. better then star sons/daughters and overrated beauty queens, isn't it...

so i am quite happy for her.. that an average looking girl has got so much fame.. hopefully, her movie does well and she can get a chance to showcase some of her talent..

however, agreed she will do better in the west and not in bollywood..

So....finally the haters (anyone who uses absurd reasons to put someone else down) have come out of the woodworks? What took you guys so long?

And Togepe30, ofcourse Slumdog Millionaire won't be nominated for any Indian awards. Duh! Its not an Indian film! Its an independent British film backed by Fox. And yea if you watched saturday night live, David Letterman show, Tyra banks, Meredith Vierra's show, ummm what else....oh yea.....Ellen Degeneres' show, you'd see her interviews. Or you'd see Karl Legerfield personally taking her pictures!!

Btw, yes she is overrated in terms of the coverage she received worldwide. But the girl is mighty lucky, charming and a showstopper on the red carpet!!! Not to mention refreshingly delightful!

Her red carpet appearances have won her all the acclaim NOT her role in Slumdog Millionaire. But ofcourse most people who only watch bollywood movies would not know the difference. So I don't blame ya.

Anyone else wanna come out of the woodworks? Oh and why isn't anyone using the classic "dark maid" comment?

You can't even rate her yet since she has only 1 movie out. After her next 2 movies, we can figure out if she is overrated or not. Right now it's her looks and her red carpet appearances and her effortless TV appearances that have people glued to her. And of course Slumdog which was a runaway success and now her relationship with Dev. Right now she is riding on hype to be honest. Having said that I do love the girl...she is gorgeous...and I wish she evolves into a well known actress in Hollywood.

I do agree with you Sanam that Freida isn't a star kid or beauty pageant winner. I truely believe that these star kids are over-rated when they don't even make a movie, they are already famous and have tons of fans without a movie. And beauty pageant winners, they win the beauty contest and join bollywood quickly...LOL

so yeah I agree that Freida is lucky. But she is over-rated, Dev patel was brilliant in the movie and the kids in the movie was also brilliant. Freida was in the movie for a little bit and her acting was okay, NOT amazing.

she's voted the most sexist? are you serious? I can't believe this...LOL she's the least sexiest in the world...haha

Why not? Trolls seem to creep up from nowhere whenever Deepika, Aishwarya or Frieda are mentioned.

And I'm talking generally here. Have you seen youtube boards or desi forums or pinkvilla for that matter? Everyone is after Deepika, Aishwarya and Frieda. These three seem to be hated the most. Why? Just because they made it on their own?

aishu, if she is voted, someone must have voted.. there must be lots of guys.. and girls, i guess too, lolz, who find her 'sexy'.. it's not like she is the one who rigged the poll...

but she is lucky and i am happy for her.. frankly speaking, she has a different kind of beauty.. it's easy to relate to her because she is just like a normal girl and she has that 'likeable' thing going for her.. so i do like her..
