This is Malaika's life and she can live it the way she wants. Her MIL and parents lived a traditional life, but it doesn't mean she has to follow the same path. She has a every right to find her happiness. And marriage is a bond between Husband and wfife...every thing else and everyone else comes afterwards. Like Maya said , if it was her son who wanted to joiin the industry then her MIL would have been the first one giving interviews on every other newspapers describing her son's qualities. This is the clear case of double standards which still exists in indian society.
and ya bollywood is the world of glamour , so obviously Mallaiks would be required to wear these kind of outfits...BUT SOO wat?? In hollywood most A grade actresses like Julia Roberts, kate winslet are married , with husband and kids. But still they play all kinds of sensous and seductive roles. They are just doing their job. This is the kind of mentality in indian society makes all these actresses hide their marriages, caz once you are married...you are supposed to become SATI SAVITRI as if that's all there is for them to do. As if they have no identity left

I disagree with you on the basis of that you think if a woman is a career minded even if she is married should do exactly what Mallika have done. My dear Yaar millions of career women in the world are married that does not mean they should do what Mallika did. She was an air hostess isn't that a career. To run away from home in this manner to become an actress is not carrer oriented style. She is the worst actress we have in the film industry now. I have opinion and this is what it is. We have hundreds of actresses who are from very respectable families and doing great. Have you ever heard what nonsense some times she talks in her interviews. I agree with you that it may be her career or life, ones life is also attached with others your loved ones and your nearest and dearest. Otherwise it is selfishness.

Sneh, that is the bottom line, isn't it..
reminds me of a famous quote from my favourite book/movie: Fame is a fickle friend..!!
obviously Mallika abandoned her family and even her son for it.... seems like Mallika's PR is doing a good job of keeping her in the news.. 😉
i do like to watch movies but vulgarity is something i refuse to support...!

apparently.. but as professor lockhart says, fame IS a fickle friend.. many things these celebs do goes over my head.. more you find out about them as person, harder it is to like them.. (most of them, anyways).. 😳😳

If she wanted to pursue her dreams, she could have very well stayed in the family and done it. I've never been in support of what she's done in the industry. Once you get married, you simply cannot be the same person U've always been, it changes you, even if u try not to change...that's the whole point of marriage. A whole new life. True, it's tough for a married girl to amek a mark in the industry, but if she'd tried, ti would've been a trend-setter, and she would've doen something different.

And if she does have a son....I'm censoring my words.

And if she's really 37 nd not 28.......Get lost, liar!

Im happy that she followed her dreams! Good for her...as for her ex-MIL, you win some you lose some. get over it. At the same time, if she has a son, then shame on her for abandoning him. Mallika will end up alone.
