Good Gosh...MrsAckles, I really have an effect on you whenever I say that I dont like Aishwarya, huh? LOL I've never met someone who will go to such lengths to prove me wrong.
I hate to break it to you but no matter what you say, or how hard you try to defend her, I dont like her...never have, never will. So I think you're wasting your time trying to convince me by arguing with me. Its not gonna work.
And since you enjoy listing things, heres a list for you. Her failures. (As for her hits, they have either been multi-starrers or have had competent directors.)
Aur Pyar Hogaya
Jeans
Aa Ab Laut Chalen
Mela
Josh
Dhai Akshar Prem Ke
Hum Kisi Se Kum Nahi
Dil Ka Rishta
Kuch Na Kaho
Albela
Kyun Hogaya Na
Bride & Prejudice
Shabd
THe Mistress of Spices
Provoked
Umrao Jaan
And those are just the ones that I thought of off the top of my head...who knows how many more there are! Have a nice day. 😃

Russell Peters is a very overrated comic to me like the way Carlos Mencia (people stateside know what I mean) is. All he does is make fun of different ethnic groups, which is cool I guess, if you bring something else to the table too. Personally, I think you should find humor in life, but I guess I don't really find anything really that insightful in his comedy. Tarun Shetty, if you see his stuff on Youtube, makes fun of Bollywood and his comedy is very I don't know heavy on the whole desi factor too, but in some ways it is heartwarming and just more than just laughing at the sterotypes. Because while that is all cool, I need something more to keep myself interested.
As far as Ash goes, she is not the best actress in Bollywood. But to say, she is incapable of delivering is really not true. Personally, I have really liked her in Mani Ratnam's films the most. He knows how to tap the best in her from her debut up until now. Also I liked her in HDDCS and JA. She is certainly not the best actress in Bollywood in my estimation, but I think it definitely says something that she attracts so many projects as a leading lady in comparsion to her contemporaries. That definitely says something about what directors see in her.

she has done well over the years....definitely one of the better model/ beauty queen turned actresses we have....but somehow I always feel she is very aware of the camera....unlike a Madhuri, Sridevi , Kajol or Rani...
She was good In Jodha Akbar ( except for the swords fighting scenes...she looks too delicate to lift a sword leave alone swinging it around)...HDDCS, Guru....
her voice is a let down for me..its not just her beauty which has helped her succeed...she definitely has a spark but I would put her in my list of legends😛

Either you are paranoid beyond belief or you think a bit too highly of yourself.. my response was related to everyone commenting about her being a "director's actress" NOT you in particular and you must have a delusion of grandeur if you think everything I say in this forum is in response to YOU..

and i also hate to break it to you but i wouldn't give a rats what you think of her and judging by your sexist and some close minded rants in that past i have no intention of changing your views..

and I will talk about and defend Ash as much as I want in this forum when a discussion on her comes along... and please for heaven's sake, whenever someone says good things about her, it doesn't mean they are indirectly attacking you or trying to convert you.. like srsly.. some people LOL

Yeah I ain't a big fan of Russell Peters either.. all he does is make jokes about desi-ness with some stereotypes.. I just don't see the funny side in that.. not because i am some prudent desi and can't handle jokes against "my kind", but more because i find it repetitive and well not funny..

its the same thing with other ethnic and minority comedians, all they do is make random inane jokes about their people and culture... and female stand up comedies make jokes about tampons and period pain and PMS.. like come on!

now people who like Russell Peters' works, I AIN'T ATTACKING YOU OR TRYING TO CONVERT YOU, AIGHT?

the only comedians i am a big fan of are George Carlin and Bill Hicks (RIP)..i suppose i ain't easily amused..

Sexist?! Um no lady. Im a woman myself. If I was sexist, I'd feel that way about all women. I dont. Its just Aishwarya-I dont like her. You have the wrong person if you think Im sexist.
I'd love to sit here and chat, but I dont find this conversation very interesting. Oh and make sure you re-read that list...go on defending her. Im sure she'll be appreciative.

I think Ash is so criticized is because she is so famous...and people are trying ti figure out why she is so famous.

She became famous coz she was very beautiful...she was a famous ramp model and the media's darling. It was a shock to her and everyone when Sushmita won the Ms India title. But she went on to win the Ms World title and made very good career choices and got very lucky with directors like SLB & Mani Ratnam although she started off as a pretty weak actress. Over the years she has improved...and has given some good performances.

I still don't think much of her as an actress (but then that's my opinion) but she ahs done well for herself . She is world famous...a lot of people know who she is and that's a great achievement from her part.

my dear friend i think u didnt read the topic its not u & me who said that Aish is the bad actress its
" Russel states Aishwarya as an example of a bad actress. Here it is, from the horses' mouth, "Aishwarya Rai is the biggest example of bad acting. She has proved it time and again how it can do wonders. In Bollywood, people can become superstars just by having a pretty face.""

now i think every pont is cleared now we defend our actress dont without bashing her i hope u understand
