When they call names to a black person for his colour, it is meant as an insult because they think to be white is preferable.

Now, if a bunch of brown people call a white person some colour-related name, why is that offensive? We know in India, people think it is better to be fair. It isn't like they want to distance themselves from fair people.

So, if somebody who is clearly on a lower level is making fun of somebody on a higher level, is that really offensive? (Here I am saying lower and higher with respect to majority Indian mentality of fairer skin being better.) If a poor man makes fun a rich man about him having so much money...is that offensive?

Having said that, I did laugh at that scene and found it really funny but not because I am racist. If Manu genuinely thinks of Jason as being inferior because of the colour or the accent or even just really believe him to be anything other than normal, then I criticise it. But if that was only for fun, then I don't mind.

Jagga's way of speaking has been made fun of in the forum so many times, just because she isn't from another race doesn't mean it's okay to make fun about her, right? Rakhi Sawant's way of speaking gets made fun of. So, it is okay if somebody speaks in a different way and you find it funny, you laugh about it. But if that makes you think any less of that person or treat her differently, then that's a problem.

I too laughed at it as much as the other celebs in the show did, because it was genuinely funny. However that doesn't make one a racist because it's said it in jest.

As for your whole paragraph. Well: 👍🏼

Try to understand the reason of the logic applied instead of being ignorant.

Finding accent amusing isn't wrong. But what Manu was doing was mocking the accent. There's a difference between mocking and amusement.
What I find funny is how Manu never says anything to the person who is talking about. Always behind their back. If he really didn't mean it in a bad way, there should be no reason for him to do this behind Jason's back.
What's more is they were stereotypical. Jason doesn't even have that strong of an accent, he was born in India as well.

Also why does he call them gora gori when he clearly knows their names?
I find it very insulting tbh and trust me, if a scene like that happened in here then they'd already be given a warning whether it was intentional or not.
A guy in Big Brother was warned of eviction just because he said some Indians eat with their hands and that is a fact. He also didn't mean it in an offensive way. But Big Brother still warned him.

@xPalkix - I think many people have watched Modern Family, which is an American series. Sofia Vergara's character speaks with an accent and it gets made fun of. Nobody is called racist because of that. So, let's not generalise that outside India this would never happen etc.
I do agree though that it would have been better if Manu joked about it in front of Jason cuz that would make sure that he is just having fun.

Whether Gora-Gori is really objectionable is debatable. Atleast for me, for the reasons I stated in my original post. The example you have given for Big Brother is not relevant here cuz I did say that if a "have" says something objectionable about a "have-not" then it seems more offensive than the other way around.

Before judging others look at your own Bani fandom first. Previous page is full proof of the colorful language 👏
Ironic enough when your idol is a queen of colorful language. Next time dont be a hypocrite.
