Bani and Jason can feel home with each other in this regards. Both of their appearances make people judge them easily and then call them names. And it has no commoner or Celeb factor. Aadha desh hi yahi sochta hai toh how can we blame only Manu.
In our country being out of the box is a sin and you have to constantly pay for that.😵

I commented about this on a different post and like you said it would be a completely different matter if it was an American show. Such racist and discriminitaing behaviour would never be accepted and any individual using such derogatory terms to belittle another would be reprimanded.
It reminds me of the Jade goody and shilpa shetty case in big brother years ago. Shilpina had the whole countries support and became a house hold name because of the racism she was subjected to in the bb house.
I really hope that manu and others who joined in are questioned and are severely punished for such disgusting behaviour

I completely agree with you! Manu just shows how much of a loser he is. I hate how bigg boss contestants think making fun of somebody's appearance or the way they are is considered entertainment or funny for that matter. Like I am in awe of Jason knowing such amazing hindi, wayyy better than Manu coz atleast Jason isn't using his hindi diction to mock somebody. Manu is a loser and needs to be voted out soon.

I found Jason in every way better than this Manu.. Somewhere when Manu mocking him.. I felt him insecure of the new arrival.. Maybe a this was his so called reaction.. Because we all know .. These low standard type reactions is always given by him .. Just to make him look that he doesn't care..

What I find funny is when there were polls on this forum even before the actual entry of the wildcard winners, the winner of that poll was Jason... wonder why 😆. Surely we are not a biased superficial pseudo-sophisticated, firangi-obsessed nation now, are we?

That said, accents have often been matter of ridicule. Indian (Punj, Mallu, Tamil, Hariyanvi etc.) Arab, Chinese (and so many more) accents have been butts of jokes by even international stand-up guys.

Why, even Vidya Balan mocked Katrina's accent, that too in front of Salman. What exactly are you guys going to call Vidya now?

And compared to the vapid viper attacks by Babaji this season, Manu is nothing- he's not mocking Jason, but the accent. Babaji, as entertaining he might be, has lowered the benchmark by several seasons. Women in earlier seasons, unlike Mona would have thrown off their mikes and demanded Babaji's ouster, if they were deliberately scandalised thus.

I agree I see hypocrisy and double standard all around. Manu gets targeted more because of people's nonsensical bias toward him and bashing him any chance they get. I guess Vidya is a loser too right guys? 😆

Many in India do not even realise they are being racists and hurl downright offensive terms like KALLU, HABSHI on Africans studying / working in India, while less harmless but equally wrong GORA / GORI terminology for Caucasians.
Problem is at school level, kids are not sensitized to understand and appreciate that commenting / judging anyone by his / her skin color is a strict NO and the need to appreciate every person as a fellow human being!

Here Bigg Boss team not editing out Manu's Gora-Gori barbs is exactly because of this reason. They do not even understand that what they are showing is unacceptable.

You only attempt a solution when you first understand there is a problem!

It's absolutely disgusting. That whole conversation was so ignorant and vile. But what's more horrifying is that such behavior is deemed normal by many watching/not watching bb.What's more horrifying is others who label themselves as the elitist s and the "educated"celebs were laughing on a woman. What's most horrifying is that all these things which actually matter , that need to be discussed, that need to be pointed out as wrong would never be talked about by the host. The people speaking shit won't be reprimanded which gives them a free pass to continue to showcase their utterly racist behavior in the name of being " India waale".
They don't even realize or know that Jason was born and bought up in INDIA.

I think I have heard this as being called reverse racism? But I have a doubt really. If a bunch of white people make fun of a brown or black person and imitate her way of talking, why is it offensive? I believe it is offensive because those people think the brown or black person is inferior to them. When they call names to a black person for his colour, it is meant as an insult because they think to be white is preferable.
Now, if a bunch of brown people call a white person some colour-related name, why is that offensive? We know in India, people think it is better to be fair. It isn't like they want to distance themselves from fair people.

So, if somebody who is clearly on a lower level is making fun of somebody on a higher level, is that really offensive? (Here I am saying lower and higher with respect to majority Indian mentality of fairer skin being better.) If a poor man makes fun a rich man about him having so much money...is that offensive?

Having said that, I did laugh at that scene and found it really funny but not because I am racist. If Manu genuinely thinks of Jason as being inferior because of the colour or the accent or even just really believe him to be anything other than normal, then I criticise it. But if that was only for fun, then I don't mind.

Jagga's way of speaking has been made fun of in the forum so many times, just because she isn't from another race doesn't mean it's okay to make fun about her, right? Rakhi Sawant's way of speaking gets made fun of. So, it is okay if somebody speaks in a different way and you find it funny, you laugh about it. But if that makes you think any less of that person or treat her differently, then that's a problem.
