That's really illogical and stupid thing to say. Then by that logic Ashwin was dhood ka dhulla guy who only spoke rubbish to confuse the viewers. He was an innocent soul trapped by Maya? Lol

We can't ignore facts and assume things according to our convenience and then start judging.

One has to look holistically at every aspect and then deduce any conclusion.

Maya has done unforgivable things but no one should ever experience what she is experiencing now. You can say she bought it on herself by putting samay back into her life.. but in all honesty samay never left ... he has been stalking her for 8 years ... the sick freak was going to do something like this eventually... why else would he taken it upon himself to collect evidence of all the horrible things she's done... he was planning to use it against her.

She has done horrible things and she should pay the price ... she should go to jail or something else ... but in no way shape or form does she deserve this.

Maya needs to understand Karma - there will be an effect for her every action. She constantly tries to exempt herself from punishment for her wrongdoings, but that's not how it works. People can't just get away with things. She hasn't been punished for anything she's done so far and that's just not fair. So Samay is like a pawn if you may, who is there to sorta act as the effect for her actions. He's there to give her a taste of her own medicine. And its not like Samay has raped her is it? So how can his actions equate even a little to all that Maya's done? Because in my eyes, framing someone for rape is as vile as rape itself.
Just because Maya is a woman, a mental patient, a crazy lover or great at evoking sympathy doesn't make her crimes okay. I didn't feel a shred of sympathy for her, and tbh she really doesn't deserve any.

As long as Maya is having her last laugh in every battle, why does she need anyone's sympathy?

On the other hand her every opponent suffered terribly, so far! If someone wants to offer sympathy, they need that! As in their fight with her, some paid with life & others lost a relative! Verbal abuses put Ayaan in Jail & Vandana to scream with pain!

So long as her Kumbhakarna remains under her spell with unbreakable slumber, she can deal with not one Samay/Rajeev but ten at a time!!

Maya is invincible and why undermine her capabilities! She said once even Lord Ganesha would be summoned to take her side, when she needs him! Didn't she say that post Sagai of Saanjh?

But didn't Samay also "Use" Maya in the past?

Samay never used her, he did clearly say what he wanted.. at the end it was all Maya's call. If there had been any other girl with morals in place of Maya, she would have slapped him with chappal. But our innocent Maya had a deal with him. If not a deal, she definitely had used him and had been assuring him that he would finally get what he wanted.

Definitely no sympathy for that sickening Maya. She very well knows he is a venomous snake still she encouraged him and used him for her own benefit. Now the snake is biting back. you cannot change the character of the snake so face it.

When Samay was in her control, she had no problem in blowing an air kiss. But when he is out of her control, she acts victim.. 👏

Krystal...
We had got into an argument on another forum over rape of women...also over Ayans attempt to retrieve the keys from Maya..

Here are some of your comments ...

Although this has absolutely no connection to this discussion, I'll put in my two cents:

The 'secondary' and 'inferior' position of women in society is largely tied to the fact that they're seen as 'objects', to be owned, used and subjugated at will. Women's bodies have been long used as repositories of male honour. Ever since the days when the 'Jana' system was in vogue, tribes/groups have kidnapped and violated women of the opposing group after coming out victorious in a war. That practice continues to prevail in times of warfare/community feuds in today's world.

Rape or molestation is something which is chiefly done to 'show women their places' or 'put her in her place'. It is an instrument of gender subjugation. All of this apart from the fact that the ratio of women victim of sexual abuse vs. male ones would probably come down to something like 100:9. Now, that of course does not mean that male victims don't deserve redress for their abuse, they do. But this point sadly has no relevance in the context of this show. The victim here is the female, not the male.

In this show, the female is someone who is actively subjugated and controlled by the more powerful male character. So any sexual violence towards her should be considered as an instrument of gender oppression by the privileged and powerful male.

Hope I could explain.

Because rape, or any kind of sexual violence is done with the INTENT of dishonouring a woman. It is completely a separate issue that being raped does not make a woman 'damaged goods'.

Look at the larger issue here. Rape and molestation both reduce a woman to an 'object' with no agency. It is the worst kind of insult to any human being. It violates your mind and soul. It reduces you to a plaything with no dignity. And that's what Chandra did. He touched a woman's body without her consent.

I did not claim that "sexual humiliation is the only kind of humiliation". Sexual humiliation IS THE POINT of this debate.
Secondly, it's not about virtue. It's about degradation. Sexual assault robs a woman (or a man) of human rights. It reduces them to playthings who have been stripped of the 'right of refusal'. Plus rape is invasive physically. It combines physical and mental humiliation in the most extreme manner possible, which no other form of assault is capable of inflicting.

About women and sexual assault, I addressed this before in a post. Sexual humiliation for women has huge significance in a patriarchal society. It is a tool meant for keeping women relegated to the position of "objects". Hence the separate degree of importance attached to it. Rape is not just "another act of humiliation or violence". It is the most degrading form of violence in ways more than one. When you are insulted in a physically invasive manner, then the effect of it is tremendous; you actually feel the humiliation burn into your soul. The psychological degradation of rape combines with physical torture to create a supremely crushing effect. It cannot be compared to anything else.

Precisely my point. Here something very important needs to be mentioned.

"Social honour" and "personal honour" are two different things. The first is a mandatory code of virtue that society imposes on women. This mindset dictates that a woman should be "pure" at all costs. Such a mentality is regressive, no doubt.

The second is the question of "personal honour".This is the feeling of honour that is integral to any person's soul; the feeling of self-respect. It is THIS honour that is so brutally violated when a woman is raped.

There, you were defending a wife who had murderous intentions, n who had 2 failed murder attempts on her husband...her husband disrobed her to search for hidden weapons, n he did it because she insisted to not involve maids in the search...

Now, though Maya deserves severe punishment, I don't see any way by which she deserves to be the object to satisfy Samay's lust...here, Samay is clearly hinting towards rape after having clearly molested her since the last few episodes...

Maya deserves to be in an asylum, & behind bars...definitely...no sympathies there...but this...this post is disappointing, to say the least...

Tanvi...this was a past discussion...my point is, if one has such strong opinions on rape, how can they change wrt a different show??...or is it that certain "type" of women deserve rape, n others don't????
