The 3rd & Final Angle:

Maya suffers from MPD - Multiple Personality Disorder.

(Before reading & appreciating this post, I suggest that readers should read up about MPD on the net, if not fully aware of this medical condition. This is a link to one article on MPD...There are many such articles on the net:-

MPD usually originates in childhood due to extreme mental and/or physical trauma. Here, Maya seems to have 2 personalities (alters)... (there are cases of more than 2 personalities many times):-

Maya 1 - the meek one, who is vulnerable, who turns to God for all her problems, n who is/was petrified of Ashwin, n who has fallen in love with Arjun...Maya 1 is suicidal...though a good business woman...

Maya 2 - the vindictive one, who takes charge, extremely intelligent & who is extremely protective of Maya 1 & who is a killer of all who are a threat to Maya 1's happiness...

Both Maya 1 & Maya 2 share the same body, but 2 different minds...

Maya 1 has fallen in love with Arjun, n it was Maya 2 who proposed to Arjun...& was taking all the vachans from Arjun...

It was Maya 1 who was frantically looking for her mother, on the day of the share transfer...It was Maya 2 who took charge when Ashwin tried to influence Jhanvi for her 49% shares, n transferred all 100% shares to Arjun...Actually, as Maya & Jhanvi suffer from mental conditions, this transfer has actually NOT taken place, & Maya 2 is aware of this...(Saanjh mentions about this at the doctor's clinic)

It was Maya 2 outside her flat who beats up Ashwin after the shares transfer...Who trapped Saanjh n Ashwin in the email fiasco...

It was Maya 2 who invited Saanjh for dinner at her place in the beginning...

When the Mauritius Pundit made his forecast against Maya, it was Maya 1 who was sobbing, n it was Maya 2 who killed him...Hence the earring...

It was Maya 1 who sat down at the Mandap, but it was Maya 2 who got the pheras completed amidst the fire.

I suspect, it was Maya 1 who was sobbing in the locked room before the wedding, but it was Maya 2 who killed Ashwin.

Currently, we are seeing Maya 1 as the docile daughter in law, falling at Vandana's feet for acceptance...Saanjh & Ayaan have sort of accepted her for the time being...

Vandana is unable to accept Maya, maybe her maternal instinct...I see Vandana being killed by Maya 2 in the near future...

Maya 2 was born to mother Maya 1 & Jhanvi & protect them both from Ashwin & the rest of the world...Strange are the vagaries of the mind...I think Maya 2 was born on Maya's 9th birthday...When she attacked Ashwin for the first time...

I think Maya 2 is dormant at the moment with Ashwin's death...Maya 1 has taken over completely for the time being...I think Jhanvi is trying to reawaken Maya 2 - hence her phone call to Maya about Ashwin's return n that psycho smile- Jhanvi is used to the protective Maya 2 around her, n doesn't want her to go away...Completely.

Saanjh's intervention during the 7th vachan is symbolic that Maya 2 will NOT kill Arjun before Maya dies...

This is my interpretation of this beyhadh fascinating show called Beyhadh...What's yours???😃

(I have put forth 2 theories earlier, but each time, something wasn't falling in place...This is my final theory, n the script so far supports it...If Vandana is the next to be killed, I shall be convinced of Maya 2...)

I'm not certain if it's a case of dissociative personality disorder. If it is, it doesn't manifest itself like it's depicted on the show. Firstly, the host Maya/docile Maya (as you choose to call her) would have no idea about the existence of the extreme version. She won't be aware of her alter ego. cases of split personalities do not refer to their alter ego as a self. For that matter, they don't even think the alter ego "looks" like them. No matter what the mirror shows, their brain will process the image as a third person. These are two distinct personalities such that Maya 2 may not necessarily be in love with Arjun just because Maya 1 is.

Why didn't Maya 2 eliminate Ashwin in all these years?

I don't think Maya is killer, it has to be someone else. Maya might have split personality but she is not a killer surely else the show will become too predictable

Yes you're right ...Maya 1 doesn't know of Maya 2...but Maya 2 is aware of Maya 1...the alter egos are usually aware of the original self, or so I believe...Maya 1 is not aware that Maya 2 has killed 2 people so far...

Maya 2 is not in love with Arjun...she is obsessed to get Maya 1 n Arjun married...

Alter egos are known to grow "darker" with time...Maya 2 always protected Maya 1 from Ashwin all these years, in her own way, but now that Ashwin was becoming a threat to Maya's one chance at a happiness, Maya 2 had no option but to kill him...

I stand by my theory that this is a tale of MPD /DID...

See, in a way, Maya is not a killer...she is trapped in a body which has an illness...n it's the ill mind which is committing the murders...she is not even aware that her alter ego is doing this...

I suggest you rewatch episodes 75-79...esp the epi where Maya is attacking Ashwin outside her home, (after the share transfer thingie) & then when she enters,the way she makes Jhanvi drink water...these scenes say it all...

I still think if she wanted to kill Ashvin she would have stabbed him or something. Ashvin would never be so scared of her to get heart attack. It is something else, which we can't see right now. I still feel Jhanvi is the one not maya.

When has Maya 2 ever protected Maya 1 from Ashwin? She always used to cower around him. It was Arjun who indirectly empowered Maya to face her demons when he stood up for her at the office.

The host Maya wouldn't fall at the feet of Vandana if she didn't realize Vandana is justified in her apprehensions towards Maya being her bahu. If your theory is in fact true, the host Maya would in fact be confused about Vandana's over-reactions as she'd have lost the time Maya 2 had taken over to protect her.

This isn't a case of DPD.

The only thing that could cause Ashvin heart attack would be something very very unexpected! We will have to see who triggered that thing. They won't show Maya because that will be too predictable. It has to be something which none of us are expecting

At the age of 9, it was Maya 2 who attacked Ashwin...Maya 1 still cowers at the mere mention of Ashwin...

It was Maya 2 who wanted to run down Vandana n Saanjh before the wedding, before Arjun intervened...

If you read my entire post, I expect Maya 2 to take over soon n kill Vandana...

Maya 2 has used some medicine to trigger the heart attack, I think...

Let's see...maybe I'll be wrong...or...maybe, I'll be right...😆
