In the pilot, Maya gives her own twisted definition of love to her mom after breaking the solitaire diamond. In the same episode, we see a Maya who's fearful of her dad's mere presence that she's a panic attack.

Why didn't Maya 2 take over at that instant? Why did it feel like it was Maya 2 who was giving that piece of advice when the stimulus/trigger = Ashwin wasn't even present?

If this is indeed a case of DPD, the makers haven't made adequate research into it.

DPD is very difficult to depict on screen, n very very difficult to enact...

Jennifer has enacted it to perfection...this is her first show I'm watching...didn't know she was so brilliant.

Have you watched the cult classic Fight Club? Shutter Island? Those movies aptly depicted MPD. But yeah, it must be pretty hard to do it in an Indian daily soap, I guess.

Jennifer has always been a phenomenal performer <3

Khushi...I remember reading this Sidney Sheldon long time back called "Tell Me Your Dreams"...it was about MPD...I too think Maya has MPD...and that alternate personality just takes over her under circumstances and she hardly is in control of this take-over

I stopped watching the show after Saanjh joined Maya's office...I just catch up with random episodes/scenes...Jennifer kept me glued to the show for a long time and I liked Maya's character too...very different from the usual protagonists we see on TV...I felt her Maya's character has stagnated nowadays...I am planning to watch the show during the last few episodes to figure out Maya's truth 😛

Nah...haven't watched...have read Sidney Sheldon's novel, on MPD, "Tell me your dreams"
