If Saanjh had worked, she would be giving the reports about the case. Since Saanjh was appreciated earlier, she gave this responsibility to her which would keep her engaged. She wants to give a better prospect to Maya. Not only that, she also gave her the option whether to accept it or not.

I think right now she is more focused on Arjun and Saanjhs relationship
Appointing her as the legal advisor was just a way to get her in the office so she could keep an eye on them 24/7... in the office she will keep an eye on them and at home Arjun will obviously always be with maya... she wants to keep her enemies close to her at this point ;)

So I don't think Maya is concerned with her work ethics right now
Instead she would want to keep this "threat" as close to her as possible
But I generally don't agree with Maya's decision because it will backfire later on if Arjun pays too much attention to Saanjh in the office lol
Other than that I agree it too much fun
