Sagar had promised it would be a hell of a ride and it was. Vidya got off the bike holding on to her helmet as she felt a little dizzy. She had no idea where he had brought her. She took her helmet off and shook her head to make sure that she was still alive. She had thought that a car ride was an adventure when Sagar was driving but she was clearly wrong. She nearly screamed every time he made a fast turn but instead she closed her eyes and held on tight. Bikes, why do men love them so much, she always asked herself. But today she knew. She looked towards Sagar and smiled. He looked great on his bike. Why did he collect all the cars in the world.. He should collect bikes she thought. She shook her head. No, bikes are more dangerous. She wouldn't like it if something were to happen to him.

Sagar turned off his bike engine and then took off his helmet. He looked towards Vidya and smiled seeing her messed up hair.

"You know, I thought the plane ride was awesome but I would give up the plane ride for a bike ride any day!" Vidya said smiling.

"That's my girl!" he said very proudly."

Vidya was taken by surprise when Sagar got off his bike and standing in front of her fixed her hair. She could swear she felt the ground under her feet move. But that could be because of the awesome bike ride, she thought. Acting like it didn't affect her; she handed her helmet to Sagar and asked "where are we?" Sagar placed both of the helmets in their place and looked around and said, "It looks like a parking lot to me." Vidya smirked and replied "I meant where are we headed after you are done parking"

Sagar smiled as he shoved the keys in his pocket and put his hand in Vidya's hand and said "We are going to walk on these pretty streets."

Vidya smiled as she felt herself being pulled by Sagar as he started walking. She looked towards her hand that was in his hand. They fit perfectly, she thought. What was he doing to her? First he called her "his girl!" and now holding hands. Before she started day dreaming, she decided to speak. "Are you doing this to torture me, Sagar?"

He looked back at her. "What? How am I torturing you?"

"The one day I decide to wear heels you decide to take a walk on the streets."

He smiled as he looked towards her feet. "I could always carry you back if your feet start hurting."

She rolled her eyes and said "sure!"

He smiled and continued walking. They walked on the streets hand in hand. Vidya had never been happier. Seeing the simplest things made her happy and seeing her happy Sagar became very happy. Vidya spotted an ice-cream shop and jumped as a little girl and ran towards the shop. Sagar standing at the same spot smiled. Ice-cream, that is exactly what he had in mind, chocolate ice-cream to be exact. He was busy in his thoughts when he saw Vidya running out of the shop. A little bit of ice-cream and she was running in heels. Maybe he should have offered her ice-cream sooner.

"Aren't you going to buy me some ice-cream?" she asked bluntly.

He laughed and walked inside the shop behind Vidya.

They enjoyed their ice-cream walking on the streets seeing the beautiful streets and the lovely busy people that kept passing. Vidya was almost finished with her ice-cream when Sagar pointed towards a boutique and said "this is the place we need to go to."

Vidya raised a brow as she saw the fancy title of the boutique and then looked towards Sagar in confusion. "Why do we need to go in there?"

"Because they have the gown you are going to wear to the ball tomorrow. I already told them to hold it for you. They just need your size."

Vidya raised a brow. He already picked a gown. How long had he been planning this? She wondered. Alright, she would give it a try. There was always a first time for everything. She might as well put on a gown too while she was at it.

Inside the boutique, Vidya saw so many beautiful gowns and most of them she would never wear because of their revealing nature. Sagar sat in the lobby while Vidya looked around waiting for her gown to arrive. She was curious to see what Sagar had picked out for her. Finally, the lady walked out with her gown. It was red, a very pretty and bright red. Vidya looked towards Sagar when the lady asked her to try it on. She narrowed her eyes on him before walking to the dressing room. Before trying on the gown she looked at it carefully. It was beautiful; she had to admit that much. It was simple yet elegant. But she gasped when she saw the back. It was almost backless. It would reveal way more than Vidya would be comfortable showing, especially now that her hair was short. She was about to storm out of the dressing room ready to shout at Sagar for picking such a dress. But she stopped as her mind worked. She smiled and thought she would try a different tactic.

Sagar looked up as Vidya walked out of the dressing room. He was expecting to see her in a red dress but instead she walked out in the same clothes she was wearing earlier. "Is there something wrong with the gown?" he asked.

"No. Actually I was thinking, what if we went with a different color."

"I like red." He told her.

"Yes red is a pretty color and any other time you would ask me to wear it, I would. But I don't think it is the right color choice for the job I am going to be doing." She stated being confident in her position. She noticed the confused look on his face and came closer to him. At first, Sagar thought Vidya was trying to hug him but then realized she was coming closer to whisper something in his ear. "I am going to be stealing a very expensive diamond necklace. I wouldn't want to stand out in a color like red." She had a point, he thought as Vidya backed away. "I think we should go with black. You can never go wrong with black. It's always in." She said looking around to find a black gown. Sagar smiled as she called the lady for help. She called herself a tomboy, he thought while shaking his head. She was a girly girl hidden somewhere deep inside. Maybe she never let her out, he thought. They spent hours trying to find the dress. The one Vidya would like, Sagar would hate and vice versa. Finally, one dress pleased both of them. Though Vidya hated the fact that it was a strapless gown, she decided she would deal with it. Compared to the other dresses she saw, it didn't show that much skin. Vidya walked out of the dressing room wearing the dress and Sagar sighed. She looked so beautiful. The simple strapless gown made her look like a classy beauty. He noticed that Vidya had her hand on her chest. Probably trying to hold up her dress in fear that it would fall, he thought.

Vidya saw herself in the mirror and thought she pulled it off well. She shifted her glance in the mirror and saw Sagar standing in the back. His eyes were glued to her. She looked towards his eyes and was shocked to see the look in his eyes. She knew that look. It was the look of want, a desperate want. She couldn't believe it. Sagar Partap Singh, a guy every girl would want, wanted her. Holy crap! What the hell was she going to do now? Knowing the type of person he was, he would probably tell her sooner or later about what was going through his mind. No, she told herself. It could never happen. She would not let Sagar get to her. She was going to steal the necklace for him and then go back to her life. Nothing was going to happen between them, she told herself. She immediately rushed back to the dressing room to change because she could not take another minute of the way Sagar was eyeing her.

Sagar saw her running back into the dressing room and closed his eyes as he sighed.

They walked out of the boutique in silence. Vidya made sure there was a distance between them when they walked because she wouldn't want Sagar holding her hand again. Sagar noticed the fact that Vidya was acting very weird. "Are you okay?" He asked.

"I am fine." She replied quickly without looking at him.

"You are acting very weird. Did I miss something?" he asked as they continued walking.

She tucked her hair behind her ears. "Can we go back now? I don't feel like seeing anything anymore."

Sagar sensed that Vidya seemed tensed. Maybe her feet were starting to hurt because of her shoes, he thought. "Okay. We will go back." He said and started walking." Vidya deliberately stayed a few steps behind him. On the way back to the parking lot they both remained silent. Sagar sat on his bike and handed Vidya her helmet. He started the bike engine and put his helmet on. Vidya sat behind him and he noticed that when she held on to him for a grip this time, it was a very awkward grip. He could feel her tensed arms around him. What was wrong with her? Did he do something? He couldn't figure it out and it was bothering him that Vidya was keeping something from him. Though he hadn't known her for long, he had gotten used to her personality and he knew something was definitely up.

They reached the house and Vidya quickly got of the bike and walked inside the house quickly. She reached all the way to her bedroom and closed the door shut behind her. She had no idea what she was doing. She thought it was for the best if she managed to avoid Sagar for another day. Then there would be the ball and then the flight home. That was it. Because she very well knew that if Sagar told her that he was interested in her, she would melt like wax and fall into every trap that he threw her way. She knew better than that. She was not going to let anything happen. How could she? Chinu would kill her, but before he could get to her Sanju would kill her. She bit her nail as she sat on the bed. But what if she did let something happen, she thought about the possibility. She wanted Sagar and according to the look she saw in Sagar's eyes, he wanted her. Then why couldn't there be something? She dropped back on the bed and held back a scream. She closed her eyes and said "there can't be anything, Vidya, because you seem to have fallen in love with him while he only wants you for a while." She lay there for a few minutes but then immediately sat up when she heard the door open.

Sagar stood at the door looking very concerned. "Are you alright, Vidya? You don't seem like yourself today."

Nope, she wasn't. She bit her tongue and realized that Sagar was not going to leave her alone until she came back to herself. She sighed and said "It's nothing. I am a little homesick. That's all."

Sagar smiled and walked into the room. "That's it? I was worried I might have done something to make you angry…" he said as he came and sat on the bed next to her.

Aww… he was worried. Vidya's heart swam with joy. Not that she enjoyed Sagar being worried but she liked the fact that he cared for her. She took a deep breath clearing her mind and reminding herself that there is no need to be worried. As long as Sagar didn't tell her how he felt, she had nothing to worry about.

Sagar saw her thinking and extended a hand to try to touch her face but Vidya backed away as soon as she saw his hand. "Can you not touch me?" She said looking directly at him. He brought his hand back and smiled and said "Does it make you uncomfortable?"

"Yes! It does make me very uncomfortable and I don't appreciate the fact that you wipe my tears or fix my hair or hold my hand or whatever you do. Just stop it!" Her voice rose at the last sentence.

"Fine, I will stop it. It's not my fault you have your emotions confused."

"I do not have my emotions confused…" she said rising from the bed in anger "You think you know everything, don't you? Well, let me make something clear to you. I do not feel any emotion for you! No emotion!" She didn't realize that she had started shouting.

Sagar saw her pink cheeks and smiled. She was a terrible liar. "I never said you felt emotions for me."

She could kill him. Why did he have to smile at everything? He saw that she was out of words and asked "Do you want to go get something to eat?"

"What?"

"I am hungry. I was thinking of getting something to eat. Do you want to join me?"

She could join him. She realized that she was not uncomfortable around him anymore. It was only when he looked at her in the boutique. If he didn't look at her that way again, she was good. She sighed and said "Okay. Let's go get something to eat."

Sagar wasn't born yesterday. He knew Vidya was trying to avoid him and he knew the reason. He smiled thinking that maybe seducing Vidya would not be as difficult as he thought. She had already fallen for him and now realized it. Obviously, by keeping distance from him she was putting restrains on herself because she was unsure of what she might do if he made a move on her. He liked the whole situation. If Vidya was planning on keeping her distance from him, he was going to make sure that didn't happen. He always got what he wanted and he was not going to let Vidya be an exception.

Vidya wondered what Sagar had in his mind for food. He got up from the bed and started walking. He turned and saw Vidya standing at the same spot. "Well, what are you waiting for?"

She didn't answer him and started walking. "Where are we going to eat?"

"I was thinking here. But if you would like to go out--"

"No. I don't want to go out with you." She said quickly.

He smiled and leaned closer to her and said "Are you sure you don't want to go out with me?" Confusing her was fun and Sagar enjoyed it.

She thought about it and realized what she had just said and what Sagar was implying now. "Yep, I am pretty darn sure."

Sagar placed a hand on his heart. "Ouch! That hurt, Vidya. This is the first 'NO' I have ever heard from a girl."

Well, he'd better get used to that 'NO' around her because there was no way she was going to let him get to her. She told herself as she walked past Sagar and said "I am really hungry. What is being cooked?"

He also started walking. "I guess we will see."

The food was great. She enjoyed her meal. But now she was worried again. She looked at the clock and realized it was too early to go to bed so she couldn't possibly make an excuse to be sleepy to be away from Sagar. She thought about all the possible lies to tell him but realized none of them made sense. He saw her thinking and smiled. "So what do you think we should do now?" he asked grinning.

She slowly brought her gaze to his face and narrowed her eyes on him as she saw the grin on his face. He was a jerk and she wanted to kill him for making things so difficult for her. "I think I should spend some time to myself" she said in a calm tone.

"You don't like spending time with me?" he asked raising a brow and still grinning.

"No! I don't" she told him without hesitating.

He brought his hand to his face and tapped his index finger on his nose. "It's because I make you uncomfortable, isn't it?"

"Yes!" she said looking directly into his eyes and she saw a smile bloom on his face. She knew trouble was coming.

"Is it a good kind of uncomfortable or a bad kind of uncomfortable?"

She landed herself in a mess, she knew that. She quickly got up from her chair. "I don't have to answer any of your questions." She told him and then started walking away.

"Where are you going?" He asked still sitting at the same spot.

"To hell" she shouted.

He laughed. "I'll see you there." he shouted back.

She was back in her room already packing her bag. She wanted to go back desperately. She sighed and thought about Chinu. She missed him so much. And Sanju, this was the longest she had gone without talking to Sanju. She wondered what Sanju's reaction would be when she found out about Vidya's trip to Europe. She sat on the bed beside her bag. Did she make a mistake by coming with Sagar? Did she do the right thing by lying to Chinu? She had to admit that a part of her was terrified of Sagar, now that she knew what was going through his mind. What if he did make a move on her? His servants leave at night. They would be the only two in the house. She shook her head clearing it and smiled. No, he wouldn't do any such thing, she knew that much. She trusted him. If he was going to take advantage of her, he would have already done so. He had plenty of opportunities the night before, yet he did no such thing. Perhaps it was just a moment in the boutique, she thought. Maybe he didn't really want her. Maybe her intuition was wrong. She pouted thinking about it. It didn't make sense for him to want her. She was not his type. Maybe she was overreacting, she told herself. A thought popped into her mind and she quickly got up from the bed and walked out of her room.

She walked towards his bedroom. She stopped by his room and brought her hand up to knock. She stopped, sighed, and finally knocked. She waited for few seconds and when she heard no response she knocked again. He wasn't in his room. What a surprise. Where was he? She walked down the stairs. She looked around and when she finally spotted a maid, she stopped her and asked about Sagar. He was in the garden. Vidya raised a brow and wondered what he was doing there as she headed towards the garden.

Vidya smiled in surprise when she saw Sagar in the garden with a big camera taking pictures. He was into photography. She was impressed. She watched from a distance. He looked so beautiful while he concentrated, she noticed. She spotted a bench nearby and sat watching him taking pictures. Watching him was better than watching any movie she had seen. She smiled and kept looking.

Sagar smiled as he zoomed in on the water drops in the fountain in front of him. He clicked the button to take the picture and scratched his head. He was aware that Vidya was sitting behind him watching every move he made. He immediately turned around and clicked a picture of Vidya as she sat there smiling. Her smile changed into a shock when she was caught by surprise. He smiled and clicked another picture while she had her mouth wide open from shock. She got angry and told him to stop. He smiled and clicked another picture of her angry face.

"Stop it!!" She ordered as she got up from the bench and started walking towards him. Sagar saw her coming and saw the wind pushing her hair in front of her face and clicked another picture. He wanted to take a picture of her blushing. He smiled and knew how to bring that look to her face. "You just couldn't stay away from, could you?"

She stopped walking and thought about it. It was true.

"It's pretty hard to stay away from me, isn't it?" he said grinning and there it was; the blush on her cheeks. He smiled and clicked another picture.

"Don't look so smug! I didn't come here to see you. I actually wanted to ask you an important question."

Sagar walked towards a bench and sat. "Ok, shoot!"

She didn't realize that she had started walking towards him. She went and sat next to him. He was busy checking lens of his camera. "It's about the necklace, the fake one. I was wondering where I was going to put it to take it with me without people noticing it."

He smiled as he turned to look at her. "There is something called purses, you know." He said and went back to working with his camera.

"A purse?" She had never carried a purse before. What was he doing to her? A smile automatically came to her face as she saw him busy with his camera. Why was he so good looking? She wondered while being angry. Why couldn't he just be an ugly and old rich guy? The job would have been so much easier then. She was thinking when Sagar turned and gave her his wicked smile.

"You like photography, Vidya?"

She shrugged. "I don't know. I haven't really taken interest in it. I don't know much about it. I probably suck at it."

He handed her the camera. "Here, this is a professionals' camera. Try it. Take a few pictures."

She laughed. "I will probably break your camera…"

"Then I'll get a new one." he said and moved closer to explain the functions of the camera. Vidya's shoulder bumped into his chest as he turned towards her. She lost all her ability to pay attention to what Sagar was explaining. Instead, she turned and kept looking at his face as it was only inches away from hers and he was busy explaining. When Sagar asked her to test the buttons, he noticed that Vidya didn't move. He looked up and realized how close his face was to hers. She kept looking at him with so much affection in her eyes. The kind of affection that Sagar was always scared of. He wanted to move away from her before he did something he would regret. But something in her eyes kept him glued to her face. He looked towards her lips and then in her eyes again. Why wasn't she moving away? She was the one who told him to not touch her and now she was looking at him as if she would give into anything he asked her. It was finally he who looked away because the depth of the affection in Vidya's eyes frightened him. He stood up from the bench and turned his back on her. Yes, he wanted her but not with the kind of affection that Vidya was developing for him. He would feel guilty about playing with her feelings. Why couldn't she be like all the other girls, who didn't affect him to this extent? He sighed and thought that if he showed any signs of being a nice guy to her then she would probably care for him more. He sighed and turned and saw Vidya lost in her thoughts.

He didn't want her that was the first thought that ran through Vidya's mind. He turned away from her when she didn't move giving him the opportunity to kiss her, which was a reason enough for Vidya. Why did it hurt so much? She didn't expect Sagar to fall in love with her nor did she plan to let him have his way with her. But still, a part of her wanted him to like her. She shook her head and laughed as she held her tears back. If her tears came out while she was laughing, she could clearly state that they were from laughter. She got up and handed Sagar his camera and said "photography is not my thing. I think I am going to go back into the house. You continue taking pictures." Sagar saw the tear in the corner of her eye and felt so much guilt. Why did he flirt with her so much from the very first day? It was all fun and games. He didn't intend her to get serious. Vidya turned and only took two steps when Sagar called out to her. She turned and he clicked another picture capturing her tearful eyes and her sad face. She smiled and shook her head.

"I am sorry, Vidya."

She raised a brow, "For what?"

"I don't know. I just felt like I needed to apologize."

She smiled again. "You don't need to apologize for anything. I am just homesick, that's it, remember?"

He saw her walking away and cursed himself. If just having feeling for him affected her so much then how would have she felt if something actually happened between them and then he left her. He cursed again. What the hell is wrong with me, he asked himself. I should not care what she thinks. I didn't do anything. It was her who had the whole thing wrong, he convinced himself. He sat back on the bench and sighed. He was going to have to be careful around her. No more messing around with her, just the ball tomorrow and then the flight home. He would never see her again and she would get over him soon. She would probably find someone better than him. Like that Rohit guy, he thought. But just the thought made him angry. Vidya with another guy, he didn't like the mention of that.

Vidya reached her room and looked out of the window and saw Sagar sitting at the bench. She sighed and looked hopelessly vulnerable.

Sagar looked toward the clock sitting on his bed. It was almost eleven. The last he saw Vidya was in the garden in the evening. He wondered if Vidya would come to his room to sleep like she did the night before, or did she get over her fear. He got up and started walking towards the door because he wanted to go check on her. But he stopped. It was probably not a good idea, he told himself and went back.

Vidya was lying on her side as so many thoughts passed through her mind. Fear of the ghosts didn't stand a chance against the kind of emotions she was feeling. She thought Sagar would check on her, but he didn't. Tomorrow was the only day she was going to have with him. He would have no reason to see her ever again. She closed her eyes trying to maintain her calm.

Sagar woke up according to his schedule and headed for the dining area. He sat down and waited for the maids to serve him breakfast. He looked surprised when he saw Vidya coming. He looked at his watch "A little early for you, don't you think, Vidya?" He was going to act as if nothing happened yesterday even if it killed him.

Vidya took a deep breath and put a smile on her face and said "Yeah, I figure I might as well have a breakfast with you on our last day together."

He looked in her eyes as she sat on the chair beside him. He cleared his throat, "I changed our flight reservations. We are going back tonight after the ball instead of leaving tomorrow."

She was shocked but then smiled sarcastically, "you seem to be in a hurry to get away from me"

"I guess you could look at it that way" he said looking directly in her eyes.

That hurt. Vidya got up from the table, "Well, I better go pack my bags then." She said as she started walking away.

"Have some breakfast first then you can pack."

She turned and smiled. "I am not hungry as I thought I was."

Sagar saw her walk away. One of the maids was getting to serve him breakfast when he stopped her. "I am not hungry." he said and got up from the table and walked away. The maid looked surprised knowing the fact that Sagar never missed his breakfast.

Vidya was gathering her things when she heard a knock on the door. Her first thought was that it was Sagar. But he wouldn't bother to knock, she remembered. She walked over to the door and opened it. One of his maids stood there ready to deliver the message. Apparently, Sagar had ordered one of his drivers to take Vidya to a salon so she could get ready for the ball. Vidya looked confused and asked "Is he not coming with me?"

"He said he would pick you up from there." The maid replied and left.

That was odd, Vidya thought. What got into him all of the sudden? She sighed and got ready to leave.

Sagar looked at his watch and was on time. She should be ready by now, he thought sitting in the waiting area of the salon. He had sent her gown over, too. It was going to take about thirty minutes to get to the ball. So according to the schedule she should come out any minute, he thought. He looked up as he heard footsteps and saw her coming. He rose from his chair with his eyes glued to her. Sagar didn't know what love was, but if he had to guess, it would be the moment he saw her walk out in the gown. She looked beautiful. Her hair was perfectly done, the most subtle of cosmetics, and the grace with which she carried herself. He was floored and didn't know it. She walked slowly towards him and he held back a sigh.

Vidya saw him standing in front of her. Like always, he looked beautiful. But today, in his tux, he looked like a prince. She smiled and continued walking. "How do I look?" She asked twirling.

Breathtaking, he wanted to say but said "Like your usual self."

Vidya pouted because she wanted to hear a compliment. Sagar smiled seeing that and started walking. Vidya sighed and followed him wondering what the night held in store for her.

PS. Enjoy the update guys and pray that the snow storm that has decided to appear leaves so I can actually get out of my house😆😛 Those of you who dont know about the storm, you still need to pray😆
