Part Seven

Gayatari was on her morning walk when she spotted Viren wandering around and throwing up in the bushes.

She was about to scold him for daring to come near their property but then he turned to the side and she noticed his black eye. She smiled satisfied.

' Kisne mara beta?,' she asked slyly.

He held his head and muttered,' I am not sure. I must have been dreaming. Amar was at the bridge , here in London.'

Gaytari walked as fast as she could for her age. She felt like a young woman until she came to the garden and the pain in her knees acted up again.

' Divya beta! I have good news!,' she exclaimed.

Divya emerged from the garden as she put down the tool she was working with. Since coming back to London she had gone back to her modern attire and wore salwar kameezes when she went to the nearby mandir.

' Dai Mom kaise kabar? Look you could have made your arthritis worse,' she stated.

Gayatari shook her head as she caught her breath.

' Amar is in London!,' she exclaimed.

Divya stood there stunned.

' Where did you see him?,' she stammered.

Gayatari turned solemn.

' I didn't see him exactly but I saw Viren suffering from more than just a hangover. He had a black eye. Now Viren is a big guy. Who could have enough rage to thrash him?,' she inquired.

Divya mouthed Amar.

She began to run out onto to the path that Gayatari had just come from. Her Dai Mom followed with the gardening tool just in case Viren was still around.

Divya was wearing beige top and old blue jeans, soil had stained her jeans, she stopped short to dust off her clothes. Suddenly as she came to stand up straight again someone tapped her shoulder.
