Amar tucked Divya into her bed. She reached for his hand as he was about to walk away. He squeezed her hand back.
He strokes her head.
"I'll be back soon. I just need to pick up my suitcase from the hotel if you want me to stay with you," he stated.
Divya smiled slightly.
"I am just afraid this is just a dream,"
Amar leaned down and kissed her forehead.
"Now how do you feel?" he said caressing her face.
"That you are here now but I still don't know if you'll stay," she whispered.
Amar turned solemn as took her hand and kissed it.
"Trust me I will be here when you wake up," he stated.
Amar left Divya's room and headed towards the staircase. However he stopped short to get a better look at the figure a few feet away.
He turned around to see Rajeev there.
" Babuji aap zinda hain?," he exclaimed.
Rajeev motioned for him to come closer.
The father and son shared a quick hug. Rajeev told him to get back soon. They would stay up the night and discuss how he had escaped death.
As Amar left, Rajeev thought," I hope things work out so not only does your father return with you but so does your dulhan."
Amar and Rajeev talked about his narrow escape and how he had fooled Chandra into believing he had lost his memory.
Amar revealed how he knew Sindoora's truth now and how he had met Bharat. He regretted how he had treated everyone who said anything against Sindoora. He apologized to Rajeev for disrespecting him in the past.
" I forgive you beta. I understand the situation was too easy for her to take advantage. However Divya has been through a lot of pain. Uska dil dobra mat thorna," he requested.
Amar nodded.
" I have recalled many things Divya tried to remind me of. She took a bullet for me and I did this in return. I bet it was Sindoora planting all that evidence to make Divya look mad. I recall her first day out of the hospital she was fine. Those dreams she had were reality but I never tried to understand her before. From tomorrow I plan to start anew. I will bring back what was once our story," he stated.
Rajeev felt relieved. At least Buaji and himself wouldn't have to push these two hard.
The next morning, Gayatari came into Divya's room as she was waking up.
" Dai Mom kya Amar hai?," she inquired,
Had last night been a dream? She hoped not.
Gayatari smiled.
" Get dressed, he'll be waiting for you when you are ready," she stated.
Divya smiled.
She quickly got out of bed. She brushed and showered. She changed into light blue salwar kameez and wore her hair pinned to the side.
She rushed downstairs and was startled to see Amar and Rajeev had made breakfast together.
" Just wait until we go home Amar, your mother will say I am the better cook!," Rajeev declared.
Amar rolled his eyes and adjusted his chef's hat.
" Divya ko mera khana pasand hogaya aur Maa ko bhi!," he hissed.
Divya smiled and went over to the table.
" Where is the food? ," she called out.
" Five minutes Divyaji!," Amar called out.
" Call me Divya, aur jaldi karo," she shouted back.
Amar and Rajeev exchanged looks as they finished up and grabbed the food and headed to serve it.
Gayatari and Divya were waiting for them.
" Oh so you two cooked the food today. Let's see if these gentlemen can really cook," Divya said with her British accent.
Amar turned wide eyed. Rajeev smiled hopefully.
Gayatari quipped," Yes Divya after all they gave our regular cook the day off, it better be good."
Divya and Gayatari tasted the food. They congratulated the father and son team. They could use more practice but it was a great effort.
