nice post and good POVs.
from my point of view i dont think Shiv is wrong or for that matter even Anandi was wrong in case of DB. Anandi did not take the decision to protect DB, she made the decision to protect her family and speecially Daddu, who she knew would be devastated to know the truth.
On the surface she might hope that DB will change, but this was never the thinking behind her letting DB go, she never did it to bring a change in DB. Also anandi was the only person affected by all the nonsense DB did and so she took it in her stride, to save the bigger picture her family. DB might have gone to a new level who knows.

Same is the case with Shiv. He is doing it for his family and daddu as now also he knows daddu's health is not good. Plus when he says his family is his life, he will go to maximum extent to protect it. And the state of mind in which Anoop now is, somewhere Shiv might be thinking that if Anoop leaves home me will go on an even wrong path to get things done. here atleast some sane voice might make him think.
As for he confronting Anoop, he did it when it was necessary like you mentioned. But now doing it for taking Bhaili workers doesnt make much sense. Anoop played the trick as a businessman and Bhaili ladies fell for it, so in a way they broke Anandi's trust. and this very situation can happen again with some random businessman. So here anandi needs to be strong and face the challenge, and Shiv very well supported her for that.

As for DB influencing Anoop, i dont think this is DBs fault..she is trying all tactics, anoop is falling for it and he is not a kid to be brain washed. he is doing everything on his own, willingly and hence is the sole person resopnsible for his every action.

I believe now its matter ot family and Shiv knows that Ira and Alok are sensible enough (though they will be hurt) to understand why he agreed. if it comes down to his ethics and principles he will not support every whim and fancy of Anoop.

I don't think it is right to say that Anandi doesn't learn from experiences.

Anandi kept quiet about Sanchi because she thought she needed proof even to tell Shiv about it.She just entered that family she did not know them well enough. For all practical purposes she is a nayee naveli dulhan despite being married at the age of 8 years. She was just getting to know the people in her new sasural

When she realised what her hesitation in telling Shiv about Sanchi's behaviour did she never hesitated to share her thoughts with Shiv since then.

She learnt that by ostracizing the person from family there is nothing to be gained and she saw that in Singh family so she made every effort to make sure that Sa is not isolated or ostracized by the family.

Next time she heard about Sanchi Saurabh she immediately told Shiv about it and before they could do something Sanchi got into trouble. Then things did change for better
Then post marriage Saurabh trouble she immediately sprang into action had a talk with Sanchi's husband and then kept Shiv informed all of them came up with a plan and got rid of Saurabh.
Learning from experiences is very much evident there

Even in her professional life the growth is there it is quite visible for people who want to see. This is the same Anandi who was rash enough to get into trouble with law in her attempts at trying to save people now knows how to plan and according to plan. There is so much of difference between the way she handled Jyothi's wedding long time and the way she rescued Jyothi from Sethis house.
---------------
As for keeping quiet - DB giving her drug - the moment they got to know that she has been getting that drug they didn't hesitate they found the source and confiscated from her so where is the question of tolerating the lady in question? The lady's problem was with Anandi and they made it sure that she wouldn't be able to do this kind of things again.Who expects that lady to split the parivar when she doesn't have anything against anyone of them? Did Anandi and Shiv get to hear the lady's thoughts like audience did?If audience didn't get to hear her thoughts would anyone have realised what she was upto from her behaviour? On the surface she is just plain and simple nuisance who talks rubbish all the time other than that what has she done?

Now both SHiv and Anandi knew that Anop has stolen tender details why did they not tell that to the family?
If Anandi choses to deal with DB in a her own way that is a problem but if Shiv choses to conceal thta Anop has stolen tenders that's not an issue? If Sharmili did not come over to KB house would the family have gotten to know about it? No way.Anandi would ahve told Shiv and they would have gone on to hire more people in Bhaili and family would have known none of it.

Just like Anandi decided to keep DB drugs issue as something between her and DB Anandi/Shiv decided to keep Bhaili poaching issue as something between them and Anop so what difference is there here?
Or is it that if Anandi does it is wrong and if Shiv does it it becomes alright?

Why use dual standards?

Agree DB target is Anandi...hurt her emotionally physically that's been stopped since AnSh confronted her and some extent expose her too

They don't have idea DB actually hate people around her She can't see any sort happiness around her and love rule over people ...lady who never thought about her own son & his happiness how come she love her Brother his family 😈

If I remember correctly Hardik did not reveal AnSh that DB is reason for his parents break up ..he confront DB only...told AnSh he needs unite his parents can't take his Granny's non-sense won't able to hide her truth from KB

so AnSh only knew Daddu loves DB vice verse 😆

as Rashmi pointed out Shiv agrees with Anup not just bacoz Daddu but if Anup left not only anup deserted from family but ended up choosing more dangerous path

This way there is no solution for DB. Even after A finds DB is with Anoop, she won't let Shiv tell the family because daddu will be shattered more.

Assuming Ansh brings this to the family's notice -- which is unlikely-- DB will again do nataak.

So is the solution to stand by and watch while she destroys the family. I agree with those who say that problems should be nipped in the bud.

Shiv did the same thing as A and he will suffer and pay for it. Anoop would have returned after getting a few hard knocks.

Finally, DB's part in Anoop's villainy cannot be overlooked. Kaikeyi who loved Ram turned against him on the instigation of Mantara.

Perhaps we should see this as a necessary step for the story to move ahead. Without Mantara, there can be no Ramayana:))

Without Kaikaeyi and without Duryodhan there would not have been Ramayan or Mahabhrat.
The question is how did Mandhar turn Kaikeyi around? There has to be an intrinsic defect in Kaikeyi Neither Kaiykeyi in Ramayan nor Anop in BV are some empty headed people whose heads can be filled by people like Mandhara and DB's thoughts.Kaikeyi may have loved Ram but may be she felt guilty about loving Ram more than she loved her own son and Mandhara probably played on that. Nobody can work on anyone's mind just like that and change their thoughts whether it is fiction or reality.
Daddu doesn't care to listen to DB nor Shiv nor Anandi .They don't pay attention to her. Neither does Alok pay attention to this lady either so what made Anop heed to this lady?
Mandharas and DBs cannot be blamed entirely.they can exploit the existing feelings and act on them.

So what should Anandi Shiv have done? Tell family that she fed drugs and Anop stole tender quotations?
What would be the consequences?
DB would still be the same Anop who said so shamelessly the everything is fair in love and business so how would they be stopped?
They will stop only when they get hit hard or when they fall into the trap taht they themselves set.

The major problem - The writers revealed all the thoughts that go on inside the lady's head.
If the writers have not revealed the thoughts to the audience would they be saying that Anandi did wrong in giving DB a chance?Because if one looks at the lady's actions only and not her loudly expressed thoughts it is very difficult to say that she harbours ill feelings towards Anandi and Shiv and is plotting against them.

Nice discussion, I agree mostly with rohini and missesha.
Was away from home with no TV or internet, so I do not know the details of current track - but if it is only calling Anoop as papa - I will not find fault with Shiv. It is not his fault that he got two sets of parents and he was not aware about the swap till he was about 30 years old. In his heart - Shiv may be thinking that Alok and Meenu did injustice to Anoop, Ira and Shiv himself. So, after all these years - if his biological father asks him to call him papa and Shiv agrees (for whatever immediate reasons) it cannot be said as a wrong decision.

Don't know what exactly was shown about Bhaili workers with Anoop - but it happens in real world in business rivalry to lure away the workers (in private sector people do change jobs - leaving the company and joining rival company). Anandi started Bhaili for benefit of women workers - if those very workers found better pay package with Anoop - Anandi should be happy for them, but concerned for the women left in Bhaili and try to find more workers - this way - she will be able to help more women. Anoop is morally wrong here though.

Regarding hiding business - serials always thrive on hiding the truth of wrongdoers by the "good" people - otherwise the tracks cannot be stretched.

SPuja welcome back. It is nice to be back in discussion mode. This is one of the interesting phases of BV with emotions, conflicts and choices making for good drama, but the pattern continues of Ansh overlooking sins of family but punishing outsiders.

Recently they saved a girl from slave labour and got the lady arrested. The lady had a young son whom the police carried with them. Wish Anandi and Shiv had checked on the child to see how he was coping with the trauma. They didn't.

Interesting topics and discussions here.
As someone already wrote, Anandi didn't let DB's truth come out at that moment because she was worried about daddu and not because she wanted to save DB. I absolutely support that decision of Anandi because that was need of the hour. But at later point of time Anandi and Shiv should have discussed it with others- maybe Alok Ira or Meenu. Don't know how much impact it will have when they will come to know about it now or sometime later..
About Shiv, he has always been shown weak when it comes to family. He is emotionally weak but he is not comprising. He himself said that in one of the earlier scenes. This clash of ethics between him and Anup is definitely going to happen in near future. In current situation I would have liked to see him atleast resisting on Anup's demand of not calling Ira and Alok as mom and dad. But again Anup wouldn't have settled on anything less..
Anup always had this feeling of being separated from rest of the family and some sort of inferiority complex in his mind, ever since he came back. DB just fueled those feelings. If not DB, there would have been some other catalyst for his inner thoughts to come out. He also doesn't have as liberal mindset as rest of the Shekhars, which had reflected in his actions earlier as well.

Did not watch BV for quite some time and written updates are also not seem to be regular. I did wonder about the age of Mandira's son (hope I got the name right) and why police/Anandi/Shiv did not think to send him to his relatives - his parents were guilty, but the boy's welfare should also be kept in mind.

Creatives should know that to make their tracks more impact full - they have to show some more details - instead of going with this conglomeration of short tracks - at least some continuity should be shown. I expected a little follow up of the boy who helped in Amol's rescue - even mentioning him in a few dialogues - may be during Amol's birthday talks or when Amol finally got on his feet - he could have remembered that someone who helped him when he (Amol) could not save himself because he could not walk etc.

Another good point raised by Rohini. It is always said in defense of Anandi that she puts the concerns of others above retribution for a crime. How come that never applied in the case of the young infant son of the woman arrested in the child labour case?

Don't police and prisons have facilities for children of women prisoners?

Aren't the police supposed to see that the family comes and takes care of that Sethi woman's child?
Aren't the police supposed to do the needful? Isn't the collector's office responsible for seeing to that the child is taken care of?
A woman who has a child and treats another woman's child so badly beats her up and locks her up in a cupboard and people seem to be considerate towards this woman's hurt maternal sentiments.
