Shiv may love Anandi or trust her blindly but still this is a HUGE reality. How can anyone believe it just because his wife said it?

Torn page says nothing. Torn page can make Shiv suspicious or egg him to find things on his own. But I don't think it is sufficient enough for him to conclude he is not Ira's son!

Did Shiv meet the nurse himself or hear her talking about that stillborn female child thing? If not then how could he believe just Anandi?

Basant couldn't even believe his Maa sa's silence. Shiv believed a torn page and choo chaa of his wife?

I remember a similar track about Tulsi's son Harsh in Kyunki saas bhi kabhi bahu thi. The boy couldn't even believe Tulsi when she himself told him the truth that he wasn't her son.

Such huge things are hard to accept and believe even if one's own parents tell about it. And here Shiv was like "kaisa parivaar" over just what wife shared! What did he see himself? A mere torned page? This was enough for him to readily believe his family is not his own? Some attachment he has with Shekhars then!

shiv has believed anandi on what she actually saw..that she read all the details about ira's delivery in the register...any reason why he shouldn't trust her on that or why he would think that she would lie about something so serious ?

he is in shock...and ofcourse finding it very difficult to accept thats why the extreme reaction from him.

That's what I am saying that how can he believe Anandi so readily? So what if she has seen everything?! Is it enough for him to believe his family's not his own? I could understand his being serious or confused or curious. But not his belief and acceptance of the fact that Shekhars aren't his own family.

People don't even believe it so easily even if their own parents tell them. Here Shiv believed his wife and a torn page? Such a major thing is believed over such flimsy grounds?

agree with u skep, its not simple matter to cme to conclusion so easily on the basis of others words unless he himself found a strong evidence

well, anandi personally checking the register and reading it herself is not a flimsy ground..the torn page is definitely an indication that somebody is trying to hide this fact ..why only that page went missing ?...shiv is in shock...he hasn't yet completely accepted this fact...and want to get the depth of it..

the whole story is very stupid. CV are just buying time for the show. it will be better to end it than to destroy the mean story

I dont know why he shouldn't believe anandi readily. I mean she is his wife and his well-wisher. It's not like she has an ulterior motive to cook up a story.
If my mom or my husband or someone close to me tells me something, I think I would be inclined to believe it without needing to see red hot proof before me.

Yes, if a distant acquaintance whom I met on a bus once after meeting at a party six months ago told me this... then I would be inclined to disbelieve it. Or if my colleague at work whom I dont really like told me, then I would question it.

But for certain people in our life, we do have blind faith, and that is okay. That is why we trust.

And he didn't believe her on the word of her mouth immediately ... he did go to the hospital... and there is that torn document ... and no other record of Ira shekhar's maternity record on that day... so naturally he will see that there is something wrong.

Shiv can suspect something is wrong but BV showed him totally believing it by just seeing a torned page. This is not a thing to be believed so easily even if one's own parents openly admit it. I didn't find it convincing the way BV showed it.

I'd have found Shiv's behaviour justified only if he had seen the page himself or heard the nurse with his own ears.

Shiv loves Anandi or okay Anandi is God incarnate. Still one can't start believing such a huge thing without having solid proof for himself.

But skepblun - everyone is different and the whole diversity of human nature cannot function according to your mental/emotional mindmap.
I personally found shiv's trust in anandi completely convincing. She is a responsible woman who holds no malicious intent. This is such a big thing that she would not lie just to destroy human relationships. (unlike for e.g. gauri or saanchi who would lie to drive wedges in between husbands and their families). Anandi may have a lot of faults but she is not vicious. If she says Ira delivered a stillborn femaile child, then it is 100 percent true that she delivered a stillborn child.

I think I would base my reaction on the extent to which i trusted the person and how close the person is to me.

Yes, if lal singhs wife or some other stranger came and told shiv he was adopted then he accepted it, then yes, there would be a problem with the scene...but if he accepts it after anandi tells him, i dont feel there is any great issue there.
