His mum probably has seen many girls before for him and he must have had refused.. so it was not a very crucial matter. He even joked to him mum about it... 😃

His feelings for Anandi was not confirmed until DS made that proposal. He was not sure how Anandi would feel or how her family would react. So he could not base those feelings firmly until he was asked to take a decision... either yes or no... That is when he realised what he wanted... Now he will definitely tell his mum about Anandi. 😉

This Yes-No situation is the time many realize what they want actually...
Shiv also does not seem like a person who will say yes when he feels No or vice versa... I like him, he is too good. 😍

The biggest reason to conclude that Shiv either doesn't love Anandi or didn't comprehend the depth of his own feelings until today... is that he didn't propose or even contemplate doing so through his mom.

Cosmo and Khushi - you both provide excellent reasons... I don't think Shiv himself knew what his heart desired until DS posed the question... or using Tinoo's phrasing "suggested marriage". Now he does, he will plumb the depths of those feelings and do so more openly

I still feel that he was in love with her but didnt "go there" because of her status as beendhni of the haveli.

That's part of it - her "status", but not all of it... he still has insecurities about her side of the equation and he didn't fully comprehend his own feelings. If he did then he would have told his mom or at least told her to stop looking. He's not the type to love one and marry another. Fact he didn't tell or stop his mom is telling

He didnt because he was still trying to come to terms with the situation himself . He hasnt been himself for the last few days .. behaving more like a love struck teenager 😊

It would only be telling if he were taking his mothers efforts very very seriously 😆😆😆 ... I dont think he has really thought about marriage in a very serious fashion per se ...(though its hard to tell in the absence of any internal monologue on his part)... but he's single and he knows he wants to get married some day... so at best he is 'open' to his mother's efforts and open to meeting new girls... but is more indulging his mother ...

his love for anandi has not come to a point where he needs to tell his mother anything is what i mean... that doesnt mean that he doesnt love anandi though...
