yes professional relationship is there . But I meant her questions at temple about dhoti kurta, asking questions how city boy came to temple, becoming astonished for seeing shiv distribute blankets on his mother's bday , how city boy helped bullock cart man , didn't think about clothes getting dirty . Actually these things she should not have bothered .

okay...the other men were slightly village types themselves, so she never saw any contrast between them and jagya ... meaning lal singh, abhishek, shravan etc. were all strict desiboys -- even abhishek was a desi boy despite having studied in the city.
To her shiv was the only one she could place on the same level as jagya -- the smart, sophisticated, western type -- so while she could fathom all the other so-called city boys wearing dhoti kurta or going to temples -- shiv was the "real" city boy -- who had studied in London no less, who dressed in business suits -- she assumed that he was like Jagya, and was surprised to see that despite being a "real" city boy, he was exactly the opposite of jagya.

Shiv's Mom being mentioned "here and there", but not his father. Has he got a father? Are his parents divorced? Somebody has said recently that they have a feeling, Shiv has some sort of sadness in his life.

jagya is an artifical city boy . actually brought up in village but changed colours soon after getting attracted to city life and forgot his roots. Shiv even after being a real city boy kept his roots intact . Yaar , instead of questioning shiv about dhoti kurta, she could have just perceived that shiv is not what she thought him to be. But she went forward with her questionnaire . Shiv never asked any questions to her even after knowing she is daughter in law of singh haveli about her personal life . He gradually came to know one truth after the other but has never interfered in her life. So i feel its anandi who was in turn more keen in knowing about shiv than she ought to be.

bluerobin -- I dont really translate anandi's keenness to know things about him to her love interest in him.
My sense is that yes both were keen on knowing about each other's story ... shiv didnt ask directly because he is very very polished ... so he understands concepts of privacy and intrusiveness as these are very strong in the western world ...plus her past was painful and he didnt want to be seen digging into it ... in contrast anandi has grown up in an environment where everyone is nosy and in everyone else's business and she has her own un-polished way of speaking her questions out loud ... It is just a cultural difference...not that she is in love with him and asking questions to get to know him.
I find that odd in India, for instance, people will be checking about your grades or how many marks you received in an exam ... but western people NEVER ask each other about things like that. It is just a cultural difference.

yaar , so why wasn't she reluctant to touch him especially head massage ? Is it because she considered him as friend ? If some villagers had been there when she was applying desi nuskha , what would have been the situation ? Did she not think what bheem singh would have thought about her ? Still I feel its because of her love for him
